KASHRUT Abramson Hospice
Kashrut supervision in Greater Philadelphia is provided by local rabbinical
associations and individual rabbis employed by establishments. Concerned
individuals should contact each establishment to ascertain its standard of

Provides care in patients’ homes as well as in senior communities and
hospitals throughout Greater Philadelphia. Abramson Hospice is accredited
by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). Services
include: Skilled nursing care for pain management and symptom control;
specialized pharmacy services and medications; medical equipment and
supplies related to hospice care; 24-hour on-call support by a hospice
registered nurse; personal care by trained hospice aides, spiritual support
by rabbis and chaplains; counseling and emotional support for patients and
loved ones; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; trained volunteers
for friendly visiting; and bereavement services which reflect Jewish tradition.

Hospice services are covered for eligible participants by most insurance
plans, including Medicare.

those who work with them. Advocates for a welcoming and inclusive Jewish
community. Offers workshops for interfaith couples exploring the role of
religion in their lives, free email series for parents in interfaith families, a clergy
referral service and connections to welcoming organizations, professionals and
programs. Also provides resources and training for synagogues, organizations,
clergy and other program providers.
