The primary organization of the Reconstructionist movement serves as both a
rabbinical training institution and a movement of congregations and chavurot.

RJ trains entrepreneurial rabbis who combine tradition with innovation and
create positive Jewish experiences. RJ serves congregations, convenes com-
munities, empowers change-makers and pursues new ideas that can be used
throughout the Jewish world. It acts as the movement’s primary voice. It
promotes Reconstructionist values, and the idea of progressive religion, in the
public sphere.

Jewish Hospice Care For Hospice Providers — Provides comprehen-
sive chaplaincy and practical religious information to individuals in
hospice care (both institutional and home settings), including pastoral
counseling for patients and their loved ones, bereavement support and
rabbinic consultation about Jewish views on illness and end-of-life
issues. Holiday and Shabbat Celebrations — Convening festivities and ser-
vices for individuals to share and enrich holiday celebrations and tradi-
tions. Individual and Group Counseling — Rabbinic counseling provided in
times of illness, loss and transition.

Professional Workshops On Cultural Topics — Training provided to
professionals who serve the Jewish populations to ensure cultural
sensitivity on topics such as caregiving, living with a disability,

Staff chaplains are available to provide spiritual and religious care to inpa-
tients, their loved ones and staff at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia,
Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park, MossRehab, and Willowcrest. Einstein
also sponsors an accredited Pastoral Education Program offering education
and clinical experience to chaplaincy students (clergy and lay people). The
Department of Spiritual Care and Mindfulness offers a one-hour “Introduction
to Mindfulness” course, an eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Program, and an eight-week Mindful Eating, Conscious Living program.
