Pride Screening
In honor of Pride Month, the
Gershman Philadelphia Jewish
Film Festival presents “Little Girl,”
the latest film from acclaimed Jewish
filmmaker Sébastien Lifshitz. The
movie is a moving portrait of 7-year-
old Sasha, who has always known that
she is a girl, and her family, who have
recently accepted and embraced their
daughter for who she truly is. The
movie will stream through 7 p.m. on

Refugee Day
From 5-7 p.m., join individuals from
across Philadelphia to celebrate the
strength and courage of those forced
to flee their homes and their impact
on the Philadelphia community at
Philadelphia World Refugee Day,
organized by HIAS PA. Masking and

Genocide Discussion
This four-session course sponsored
by Golden Slipper Gems will
examine the particular history of
the U.N.’s 1948/2002 definition of
genocide. It will also propose a
new paradigm for understanding
genocide, based on a cross-
disciplinary approach to this complex
human phenomenon. Tim Horner

Jewish jurisprudence on American
and British law and contemporary
dilemmas will be discussed at noon,
featuring Lord David Wolfson, a
British barrister and member of the
House of Lords, and Professor Chaim
Samain, the chair in Jewish Law
at the Villanova University Charles
Widger School of Law. The Zoom live
webcast hosted by the Institute for
Jewish Ethics is approved for 1.5

Steve Goode, a motorcyclist
from the Chicago area, is on
a cross-country trek to call
attention to the hunger crisis
in the United States. Goode,
whose trip will run through
the summer, is partnering with
MAZON: A Jewish Response
to Hunger. His trip is called the
“Great American Deli Schlep.”

On June 6, Congregation Beth El-Ner Tamid in Broomall held a program called “Pathways to Israel
— Mind, Motion and Munchies.” There were Israeli-themed events like Krav Maga, a virtual tour
of Israel and a shofar-making workshop. Participants could also take part in Jewish henna designs,
discussion groups, Israeli food activities and more.
