Jarad Geldner, 37, of Silver Spring, MD, died
May 27, 2021 after a brave and arduous
battle with cancer. Loving and devoted to his
family, wife Hillary (nee Rothberg), son
Jasper, mother Linda (nee Schwartz), sister
Jessie (Dan) Fields and brother David. Jarad
is also survived by his nephew and niece,
Asher and Avery Fields and grandmother
Jean Schwartz. He was predeceased by his
parents, Jack and Helene (nee Davis). Jarad
began his career as a political analyst for
AIPAC and remained a dedicated and active
advocate for Israel throughout his life. He
continued his career as a public affairs
strategist and executive at several organiza-
tions. Jarad will be forever missed by his
family, countless friends, AEPi franternity
brothers, colleagues and so many more. Con-

June 4, 2021. He was 94 and resided in
Warminster, PA. A widower, he was the hus-
band of the late Florence Rothberg. Joel was
a Navy veteran of World War 2. He is sur-
vived by a son, Eric (Marjorie) Rothberg and
a daughter, Debra (Hillel) Tsarfati; also sur-
vived by 4 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchil-

Azriel Schmidt, age 72, passed away at his
home in Bryn Mawr, surrounded by family on
June 4, 2021. Beloved husband to Susan
(nee Eisenberg). Azi was born in Petach Tik-
vah, Israel in 1948. He served as a paratroop-
er in the Israel Defense Force and then stud-
ied biology at the University of Tel Aviv. He
earned his doctorate in virology at the Weiz-
mann Institute. He was a dedicated, talented
scientist who worked for many years at Mer-
ck. He married Susan in 1974 and they en-
joyed 46 years by each other’s side. They had
two children, Ben and Yael and five grand-
children. Azi had many interests and hobbies.
He was a music lover, an avid gardener and a
world traveler. He was a long-time member
of Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El in Wynnewood.
More than anything, he loved spending time
with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his close extended fam-
ily and friends. He is survived by Susan; his
brother Shlomo Shavit; his sister Ayalah
Klingman; his daughter Yael (Josh) Rosen;
his son Ben (Ann Vale) Schmidt; his grand-
children Jake, Sammy, Joey, Liza and
Jonathan. Services were held on June 6.

Albert Turek passed away on the morning of
May 30, 2021, at the age of 95. Devoted and
loving husband of Phyllis Turek for 67 years,
dedicated and loving father of Joseph (Ren-

Shoshana, and great-grandfather of Daniel. A
man of the highest integrity, a decorated war

he touched many lives and will be missed by
