Apples are more commonly associated with the fall, but food
columnist Keri White spotted new varietal of the apple at a local
farmers market and was intrigued. The Lodi is an early harvest
apple best suited for baking or applesauce and tastes a bit like
a Granny Smith but without the hint of sweetness. Read her
