Alisha was creative and generous, loved cooking, and having parties. Alisha was a people-gatherer and had a particular knack for collecting interesting and eclectic friends. Ruthie was born in York, PA - the only child of Mose and Mary Leibowitz. She was the apple of their eye. And it was easy to see why. Ruthie had intel- ligence, style, beauty, grace, and warmth. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and was the President of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority her senior year in 1960. She met her soon-to-be husband, Paul, at a friend’s wed- ding, and it was love at first sight. Paul, who also studied at the University of Pennsylvania, was on his way to becoming a successful Ophthalmologist, and the two married during Ruthie’s senior year at Penn. Ruthie and Paul shared a long and wonderful life together - 60 years, and enjoyed many pursuits, including reading, theatre, travel, tennis, golf and partnering together to be- come Silver Life Master bridge players. Ruth- ie had a love of education and was a college advisor for many years. She was also an avid reader and member of a book club for over 20 years. The lesson we can all take away from Ruthie is having the drive to challenge herself and take on new pursuits. Ruthie was the beloved mother of Steven Frank, Susan Boland, Ellen Cohen (Peter), and Nancy Breslin (Charles) and the adored grandmoth- er of eight grandchildren: Emma and Claudia Boland; Eve, Jane, and Asher Cohen; and Alan, Kate, and Lila Breslin. Ruthie was hap- piest when her family surrounded her during celebrations such as Thanksgiving and Fath- er’s and Mother’s Day. With four children and eight grandchildren, Ruthie always found in- dividual time for everyone whether Broadway shows or special trips. “Grandma Ruthie is my biggest fan” is what her grandchildren would say as she showed genuine interest in the day-to-day of each of her grandchildren’s lives. Ruthie had a circle of close friends who she supported with calls, letters, and visits, who supported her, and who she held dear to her heart. Funeral services were private. She was only 35 years old. Michele is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Helen J. Miller and her paternal grandfather, Clarence M Burd. Michele is survived by her parents, Randi M and William C Burd, maternal grandfather Stephen A Miller and paternal grandmother Wilma E Burd, brother Jonath- an Burd, husband Edward Knoll III, 4 chil- dren, Cody, Tyler, Haley and Micah. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear, dear friends. She is sorely missed. Michele went to college for elementary education due to her love for children and teaching. She then decided to stay home and raise her 4 beauti- ful children herself. We were so very proud of everything about her. Kindness to all, even when undeserved. A sweet nature which made her loved by everyone she touched. She was an animal activist and went on to adopt many cats who she treated as her own babies. She wanted dogs one day when she had a bigger place. A top floor condominium was rough to raise children and attend to a dog at the same time. She and I, her Mother, were best friends. We had fun together. From watching movies, talking about anything and everything, to lunches out together. Thanks- giving was always the best holiday for us. We'd cook, laugh, enjoy our precious time to- gether, and then feed the family. She had a soft place in her heart for her Daddy, Bill. From the moment she was born she was Daddy's little girl. His perfect princess. They never missed a father-daughter dance, hugs, laughter. She shared the same sense of hu- mor as her father. He penned the term PLPP for our Michele. ( pretty little pink princess ) We never, ever left each other without saying I love you and a huge hug. Michele was loved and now she is loved and missed. My hus- band and I will never get over losing our daughter. Cries daily are normal for us. Thinking of her favorite things, smiling at her video's and pictures. She was truly a terrific mother who did everything for her children. They miss her every day and it's easy to see. RIP Angel........until we meet again. 5/2/1985- 7/8/2020 KOCH Allan Z. It brought them together in a relationship that lasted for 25 years. Dave and Norma had a beautiful marriage. They travelled extensively in Europe and Israel and wintered in Florida for many years. Each meal that Norma pre- pared received his compliments and he was the official kitchen patrol in cleaning up. He was a partner in choosing all the furniture in the two homes which they maintained.
