WEISMAN Morris Weisman, of Philadelphia, PA, passed
on May 16, 2019, at age 98. Sir Morris Weis-

and a splendid friend and Rabbi-like person-
age to many, including, of course, his closest
kin. Graveside services (at Montefiore, on
May 20) were private. Thank you, Bugles
Across America as well as the United States
Coast Guard, or your representatives rather,

Loving Wife of the late Max Weiss, Mother of
Steven Weiss & Debra Menaker, Mom-mom
to Michael, Jordan, Jake & Brayden. She will
forever live in our hearts.
WERNIKOVE Shelia Wernikove, a 21 year resident of Las
Vegas, passed away on August 30. 2019, at
the age of 83, surrounded by her loving fam-
ily. She was born in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania on September 8, 1935, to the
late Nathan and Goldie Hoffman. Shelia
graduated from Overbrook High School, with
honors, and studied journalism at Temple
University in Philadelphia. Although she was
a talented sports writer in the 1950's, she
worked over 40 years in bookkeeping for an
electrical supply company before retiring.
Shelia was an avid sports fan who could
name the players and their stats regardless of
the sport. She lived for Sundays when she
could have more than one game on the TV at
a time. She also loved scrapbooking, al-
though she simply called it collecting memor-
ies. Her journals and scrapbooks, dating back
to the 1940's, document a life filled with love,
laughter and compassion. She was an incred-
ible daughter, mother and friend, meticu-
lously keeping track of birthdays and an-
niversaries, never missing a special occasion.
Her biggest passion was her two grandsons.
She was their hero, and they were hers.
Shelia is survived by her daughter Elynne,
son-in-law Jerry Greene and grandsons,
Ross and Garrett. If you are always trying to
be normal, you'll never know how amazing
you can be…Maya Angelou. Shelia was truly
amazing and inspired those around her with
her humor, creativity and unconditional love.
Donations in her memory can be made to the
Arthritis Foundation.

Judaism isn’t just what we believe, or the prayers
we recite or the laws we observe. It’s also about
the way we live. How we interact with others.
The values we practice. The customs and traditions
we embrace and pass down, from one generation
to the next.
