DEATH NOTICES
Edward L. Snitzer, died on September 11,
2019. He was 87. He is survived by his ad-
ored and cherished wife of 59 years, Gail
Weiss Snitzer, his four children, Andrew
(Corinne), Paul (Melanie), Fred (Jessie), and
Barbara Solit (Dr. David Solit), his wonderful
grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Abigail, Re-
becca, Jessica, Eli and Madeleine and a
brother, Herb (Carol Dameron). Ed was a
proud graduate of Central High School, 191st
class, of Temple University and the Uni-
versity of Pennsylvania Law School. He
served in the United States Navy with his last
posting to the U.S. Intrepid, CVA II, which is
now a museum in New York City. He was an
attorney, a businessman, author and the co-
founder of Prudent Management Associates,
a registered Investment Advisor. He was act-
ive in his community, particularly his syn-
agogue, Congregation Rodeph Shalom, be-
ing President from 1986-1989 and active in
its affairs for over 40 years. He was active at
the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network
serving on its Board, as Secretary, Vice-
Chairman and its honoree in 2010. He served
as Treasurer of the Settlement Music School
and as Finance Chair at the Foreign Policy
Research Institute, and he was on the Board
of the American Jewish Committee. Ed al-
ways noted that he had three careers and
couldn't have predicted the future for any of
them. During his 14 years as an active law-
yer he wrote a text on Eminent Domain law of
Pennsylvania in 1964 which became the
standard text in Pennsylvania for fifty years
and "stood the test of time" according to its
recent editors. He was Chair of the American
Bar Association's committee on Eminent Do-
main, and an adjunct lecturer at Temple Uni-
versity. He became the CEO of a privately
held company for ten years before he co-
founded Prudent Investment Associates in
1982, an investment management firm. He
had been blessed with his cherished and ad-
ored wife, Gail, saying at the occasion of their
54th wedding anniversary that he would have
married her over again in a heartbeat but if he
were her, she should have thought it over. He
worshiped his children, Andy, Paul, Fred and
Barbara, pouring onto them all the love, af-
fection and time he had to offer. There are no
words that he could muster describing how
much he adored and loved all his grandchil-
dren. He gave his time and attention to them
at sporting events, seashore time in Long
Beach Island, birthdays, weddings, Bar and
Bat Mitzvahs, musical and sporting events.
He played softball, tennis and golf and was a
dedicated jogger and loved to travel. He um-
pired his sons' Little League games and was
a devoted fan of both the Phillies and The
Eagles. He was a voracious reader of politics,
history, law, finance, music, sports, philo-
sophy and science. His interests were wide
and varied. He never took his eye off of his
greatest accomplishment, pleasure and love,
which was his family. He said that what
meant the most and what was his greatest
accomplishment was to love those who in
turn loved him. Contributions to his memory
may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sha-
lom, care of the Edward and Gail Snitzer Mu-
sic Fund.

Loving Wife of the late Max Weiss, Mother of
Steven Weiss & Debra Menaker, Mom-mom

forever live in our hearts.
WERNIKOVE Shelia Wernikove, a 21 year resident of Las
Vegas, passed away on August 30. 2019, at
the age of 83, surrounded by her loving fam-
ily. She was born in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania on September 8, 1935, to the
late Nathan and Goldie Hoffman. Shelia
graduated from Overbrook High School, with
honors, and studied journalism at Temple
University in Philadelphia. Although she was
a talented sports writer in the 1950's, she
worked over 40 years in bookkeeping for an
electrical supply company before retiring.
Shelia was an avid sports fan who could
name the players and their stats regardless of
the sport. She lived for Sundays when she
could have more than one game on the TV at
a time. She also loved scrapbooking, al-
though she simply called it collecting memor-
ies. Her journals and scrapbooks, dating back
to the 1940's, document a life filled with love,
laughter and compassion. She was an incred-
ible daughter, mother and friend, meticu-
lously keeping track of birthdays and an-
niversaries, never missing a special occasion.
Her biggest passion was her two grandsons.
She was their hero, and they were hers.
Shelia is survived by her daughter Elynne,
son-in-law Jerry Greene and grandsons,
Ross and Garrett. If you are always trying to
be normal, you'll never know how amazing
you can be…Maya Angelou. Shelia was truly
amazing and inspired those around her with
her humor, creativity and unconditional love.
Donations in her memory can be made to the
Arthritis Foundation.
