Other then travel and her family and friends Sandra did enjoy going to the casinos. It has been a tough year and a half since her husband Howard passed away. GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS DEATH NOTICES KOBAK KAUFMAN Donald R. Kaufman, an executive coach and co-founder of The Kaufman Partnership, died on Sunday, August 25 at his Philadelphia home on Washington Square, surrounded by his beloved family. “Don,” as he was known, was a real estate developer and mortgage broker before co-founding The Kaufman Part- nership with his wife, Karen Kaufman, in 1985. The business recently celebrated its 34th anniversary. He was born in 1939 in McKeesport, PA to Byron G. Kaufman and Grace B. Kaufman (Logan), and graduated from Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills PA in June of 1957. Don was in the United States Navy during high school and received an honorable discharge in December of 1957. After the Navy, Kaufman worked in a variety of financial services roles in New York and Pennsylvania. In 1969, he founded First Na- tional Bond & Mortgage, headquartered in Jenkintown, PA. According to his family, it was the first company in the area specializ- ing in the FHA housing market. In 1973, Kaufman married Karen Debra Hoffman. “He knew I was a businesswoman, and he al- ways empowered me,” said his wife. “He was a great support and gentle in his guidance.” Don Kaufman earned a Master of Science de- gree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania when he was in his fifties. His and Karen’s work in the pro- gram led them to develop The Kaufman Im- pression Management System, an instru- ment that identifies and measures impres- sion factors that enhance executive and lead- ership presence. Executive coaching was an ideal match for Kaufman, who brought his in- tegrity, kindness, and empathy to his clients. For him it was not only a business, but also a calling and a way to help others. “People ad- mired and adored him because he was gentle and genuinely interested in other people,” said his son, Marc. Don and Karen were part- ners in love and in life, sharing family events, participating in charities and community activities, and enjoying golfing and sailing, in- cluding solo sails to the British and Americ- an Virgin Islands. They were active members of Society Hill Synagogue. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed books about military history. Kaufman was a founding member of both the Center for Organization- al Dynamics and the Psychoanalytic Coaches Association, and served on the Executive Board of the Friends of Independence Nation- al Historical Park. At the Union League of Philadelphia, he served as President of In- vestment Club Two. Kaufman loved his fam- ily unconditionally. “He had a way of inspir- ing by example, how we should be,” said David. His sister Patricia Houtz said, “He had a quality of seeking the truth, always in pur- suit of knowledge. He was a role model for me.” “Don said he wanted to be remembered as being strong, persistent, unique and charming,” his wife said, “and he was all of those things.” In addition to his sons Marc and David and his sister Patricia, Don Kauf- man is survived by his brother Russell W. Kaufman; his first wife Karen; his daughters- in-law Heidi Grad and Elizabeth Grad; father- in-law Len Hoffman; brother and sister-in-law Louis Hoffman and Sheri Gordon; three grandchildren, Max, Caleb and Abigail; and 13 nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Snitzer, died on September 11, 2019. He was 87. Ed was a proud graduate of Central High School, 191st class, of Temple University and the Uni- versity of Pennsylvania Law School. He served in the United States Navy with his last posting to the U.S. Intrepid, CVA II, which is now a museum in New York City. He was an attorney, a businessman, author and the co- founder of Prudent Management Associates, a registered Investment Advisor. He was act- ive in his community, particularly his syn- agogue, Congregation Rodeph Shalom, be- ing President from 1986-1989 and active in its affairs for over 40 years. He was active at the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network serving on its Board, as Secretary, Vice- Chairman and its honoree in 2010. He served as Treasurer of the Settlement Music School and as Finance Chair at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and he was on the Board of the American Jewish Committee. Ed al- ways noted that he had three careers and couldn't have predicted the future for any of them. During his 14 years as an active law- yer he wrote a text on Eminent Domain law of Pennsylvania in 1964 which became the standard text in Pennsylvania for fifty years and "stood the test of time" according to its recent editors. He was Chair of the American Bar Association's committee on Eminent Do- main, and an adjunct lecturer at Temple Uni- versity. He became the CEO of a privately held company for ten years before he co- founded Prudent Investment Associates in 1982, an investment management firm. He had been blessed with his cherished and ad- ored wife, Gail, saying at the occasion of their 54th wedding anniversary that he would have married her over again in a heartbeat but if he were her, she should have thought it over. He worshiped his children, Andy, Paul, Fred and Barbara, pouring onto them all the love, af- fection and time he had to offer. There are no words that he could muster describing how much he adored and loved all his grandchil- dren. He gave his time and attention to them at sporting events, seashore time in Long Beach Island, birthdays, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, musical and sporting events. He played softball, tennis and golf and was a dedicated jogger and loved to travel. He um- pired his sons' Little League games and was a devoted fan of both the Phillies and The Eagles. He was a voracious reader of politics, history, law, finance, music, sports, philo- sophy and science. His interests were wide and varied. He never took his eye off of his greatest accomplishment, pleasure and love, which was his family. He said that what meant the most and what was his greatest accomplishment was to love those who in turn loved him. Contributions to his memory may be made to Congregation Rodeph Sha- lom, care of the Edward and Gail Snitzer Mu- sic Fund. GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL-SACKS SPLAVER STONE Corinne R.
