RAPHAEL-SACKS FRIEDMAN
Harriet Gordon Friedman (nee Stein) left us
on August 1, 2017 at the age of 82. “Aunt
Harriet”, as she was known to thousands of
campers and staff at Camp Akiba, will be
sadly missed by her family, husband Le-
onard Friedman,children Lisa Leff (Harry),
Howard Gordon (Tricia), grandchildren Lexi
Avart (Doug), Chelsea Gordon, Jessy Leff,
Blake Gordon and all who knew her. Harriet’s
impact was far reaching and her greatest joy
was being down the shore, or on a cruise, in
Europe or in Timbuktu and hearing “there’s
Aunt Harriet!” Without fail, she’d know who
it was and have an amusing anecdote to tell
about them. Later in life, Harriet found mean-
ing in volunteering for the RNS Cancer and
Heart Fund. She was the friend you always
knew you had and her spirit will remain in
our hearts forever.
