JOSEPH LEVINE and SONS UNVEILINGS HARRISON Unveiling for Ethel Harrison is scheduled for Sunday October 14, 2018 at 1 pm at Mount Please join us at Sharon cemetery. graveside to celebrate Ethel and then later at the home of Alan and Wendy Goldfuss. Ethel is greatly missed by her 3 surviving children: Meryl (Michael Joblin), David (Mary Harris- on), Wendy (Alan Goldfuss). her 9 grandchil- dren (Evan, Alana, Jamie, Andy, Molly, Brett, Julie, Jewels, and Nathaniel), and her 13, soon to be 14 great grandchildren. A wonder- ful homemaker, who made dinner every night along with constant birthday and holiday cel- ebrations, she also became a reading therap- ist after her children were grown. In the late 1970s, Ethel became an advocate for healthy diet and lifestyle, in order to ward off heart bypass surgery faced by her her husband, Russ. She was an active member of Women's American ORT and Hadassah, serving in many leadership roles and on their boards. She was extremely well read and of- ten led book groups well into her 80's. She loved cultural and culinary events. Her heart and spirit were always open to family, friends and even strangers as she was in the words of her friends, “the hostess with the most- ess”! She demonstrated the highest moral values and stressed the importance of educa- tion, volunteerism, Jewish practice and toler- ance. She was one of five fabulous female octogenarians featured in “Bubbies in the Burbs”, a short documentary that was shown to Hadassah groups in PA and Florida. Born in Philadelphia in 1929, Ethel married Robert "Russ" Harrison in 1948. They lived in Over- brook Park until 1960 with their 4 children and then moved to Havertown. At age 64, Ethel became a widow and moved to Latches' Lane condominium, where she resided until her death October 12, 2017. She lived a long, happy, mostly healthy, fiercely inde- pendent, vibrant, and involved existence until the last year of her life when the obstacles of aging increased and diminished her quality of life. We are blessed that she went quickly without suffering and are grateful for the time we had with her and what we learned from her about cherishing life's blessings. Her memory is a blessing for all that knew her. Please join us on October 14 at Mount Shar- on. To place a Memorial Ad call 215.832.0749 Honor the memory of your loved one...
