DEATH NOTICES
RADOVITZ Jerry J. Ross died on October 4, 2017. He
was a retired record producer who resided in
Philadelphia, PA. Husband of the late Janice;
father of Cheri (Jason) Dorwart and the late
Kenneth Ross; brother of the late Arthur
Ross; and grandfather of Tanis and Abigail.

RAPHAEL-SACKS DEATH NOTICES
ROSS Sima Radovitz, aka Sima Mordinson Green-
berg, passed away on September 8, 2017 at
the age of 90. She was born in Ulla, Belorus,
USSR (5 th of 6 children). During WWII, as a
teenager, Sima attended school and worked
in a military factory in Siberia. Married in
1945 to Nathan Greenberg, Sima and Nathan
lived in Ukraine until 1957, immigrating with
their 2 children to Poland and then to Israel.
In 1960 they arrived in the United States,
where their 3rd child was born. Sima and
Nathan worked as bookkeepers, building a
life for their family. After the untimely death
of her beloved husband in 1969, Sima contin-
ued to work tirelessly both inside and out-
side the home. In 1977 she married her
second husband, John Radovitz. A long-time
active member of Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El
in Wynnewood, Sima cherished her com-
munity and served as a volunteer in many ca-
pacities. She was also actively involved in the
Soviet Jewry Council and was a strong sup-
porter of Israel. It was said of Sima that she
knew where she came from, and who she
was. Sima’s full and meaningful life was in-
formed by her deep respect for her parents
and the values by which they lived. She fo-
cused her energy every day of her life to cre-
ate a better world for her family, friends,
community and those in need. Sima’s words
and deeds exhibited her intelligence, compas-
sion, and industrious nature, and she had a
profound impact on those who knew her. She
loved her own family very deeply and served
as a role model to each generation of her
descendants.Sima is pre-deceased by her
second husband. She leaves behind 3 chil-
dren and their families, including 6 grandchil-
dren and 5 great-grandchildren, 3 of whom
are Israeli Sabras including an IDF soldier.
She was a beloved aunt to 9 nieces and
nephews and their families. Sima will be
missed immensely. May her memory serve
as a blessing to her family and to all whose

ROSS Milton Ivan Ross 89, October 8, 2017. Pre-
ceded in death by his daughter, Francesca
Faye Ross, Survived by his two sons, A.
Jason Ross and Ivan Ross, loving Grandfath-
er to Aleksandra Ross and Oliver Ross. A nat-
ive Philadelphian, he went to Central High
school, Drexel Institute for a year, then stud-
ied six years at Temple University. He was
an inventor, entrepreneur, and manufactured
a patented line of electromechanical compon-
ents, at facilities in the United States, the
United Kingdom with a distribution office in
France, His clients included the military and
government contracts, especially for the
Space programs. He also was a supplier to
early computer developers, particularly as
they related to transistor mounting pads and
encapsulation shells and later for integrated
circuits. He was a member of YPO and PPO
and the Society of Plastics Engineers. An ec-
centric, with a penchant for Savile Row suits
with garish linings, he was a world traveler
and bon vivant. A memorial service was held
1 pm Tuesday, October 24th at the Main Line
Reform Temple, 410 Montgomery Ave, Wyn-
wood, PA 19096 Internment will be private.

SACKS Arlene H. Sacks (nee Yaffe), age 73, passed
away peacefully on Yom Kippur after a long
battle with breast cancer, just shy of her 74th
birthday. Arlene lived most of her life in
Northeast Philadelphia. She is the daughter
of Syd and Belle Yaffe of Montour St. She
worked for Whippie & Associates, Mass Mu-
tual for decades, and her cherished role in life
was being a second mom to the neighbor-
hood children of Bonner St., where she and
her husband, Steve Sacks, raised their family.
Arlene is survived by her children, Bryan
(Cheri), Ilyse, and Matt; her beloved grand-
children, Jaime, Jessica, Tanner, Jerico, and
Jade; great-grandmother of Marley and Trey;
and brother, Barry (Donna) Yaffe. She leaves
behind a heartbroken extended family, includ-
ing her best friend Nonnie (Dave) Checkoff

all loved him and will miss him greatly.

ZELAC KLEVAN
DEATH NOTICES
ZELAC Gwen Ella Zelac, (nee Motanky) passed away
suddenly but peacefully on September 21,
2017 in the presence of her husband of 56
years, Ronald, sons Steven and Daniel, re-
spective daughters-in-law, Halli and
Stephanie, and grandchildren Corey Berman,
Drew, and Alanna. She is also survived by her
sister, Roberta, and brother, Guy. An accom-
plished artist, Gwen exhibited her photo-
graphic fine art in multiple shows and has
work in private collections. Extremely kind
and caring, her life focused on family and
friends and extended to so many others as
well as multiple charitable causes. She will be
missed by all. Originally from Chicago,
Gwen's final resting place will be with her
parents and other family members at Me-
morial Park in Skokie, Illinois. Donations in
