Frankie. She was deeply loved by her hus-

SEGAL Ruth Annette S. Segal (nee Smith), passed
away on Thursday November 16, 2017. She
was a long time resident of Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Ruth was the loving wife of the late George
Segal. She was preceded in death by her
brother, Norman Smith. She is survived by
her children Steven (Paula) Segal, Bonnie
(Martin) Shulkin, Sherry (Marty) Nash and
her brother Joel Smith. She cherished her 7
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She
was devoted to her family staying in contact
with her children, and particularly devoted to
all her grand children and great-grandchil-
dren. She doted on all of them and was in
contact right up to the end of her life. A
private service will be held in her memory. In
lieu of flowers the family has asked that
donations be made to the charity of the
donors choice.

SERES Miriam Seres (nee Skolnick), Oct. 28, 2017 of
King of Prussia, PA. Loving & devoted wife
of the late Paul Seres, mother of Bruce Seres
of Gaithersburg, MD, David Seres of Haver-
town, PA, and the late Deborah Seres. Sister
of Izzie Skolnick, Yetta Erlich, and the late
Libby Roth. Loving grandmother to Jordan &
Adam Seres of Gaithersburg, MD. Also sur-
vived by many nieces and nephews. A
lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area, and
an integral part of the family-run Penn Crest
Pharmacy in Overbrook Park from 1950 until
1977, Miriam loved traveling with Paul, and
just being around family and friends. Relat-

SHOTZ Jacob Lyndon Shotz, 19, of Doylestown,
passed on November 14, 2017 peacefully at
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia sur-
rounded by his loved ones. He long suffered
from severe epilepsy as part of a rare genetic
condition, KCNB1. He was born August 9,
1998 in Abington, the son of Howard and
Gloria (Kramer) Shotz. He attended the HMS
School for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Jac-
ob loved the simple things in life; his music,
his books, his art, singing, baby beluga,
bubbles and taking long walks with dad. He
accepted everyone for who they were and
touched the heart of everyone who knew him.
Jacob is survived by his parents Howard and
Gloria (Kramer) Shotz, brother and sister-in-
law Chad and Hui Laspee, his niece Olivia
Laspee, and his sister Hali. He leaves his ma-
ternal grandparents, Fred and Brenda (Sha-
piro) Kramer. He is also survived by many
aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jacob is
preceded in death by his paternal grandpar-
ents Sidney and Diana (Slomsky) Shotz and
nephew Evan Laspee. The family asks that

Charles William Spindler, Jr “Karl," of Lower
Gwynedd, PA passed away at the age of 97
on Saturday October 14, 2017 at Abramson
Center in North Wales PA. Karl was born on
July 29, 1920 in Philadelphia, the son of
Charles Sr. and Louisa (nee Warner). He was
the loving husband of Ruth Rosen Spindler
with whom he shared over 50 years of mar-
riage. He was the father of Patricia L. Hende-
rson, (née Spindler), step father to Fredrick
Wackenhut III who pre-deceased him and
Lynda Wackenhut Wilkes of Clinton, CT. He
leaves three grandsons, Tristan T. Hender-
son, Garrett S. Wilkes, and Fredrick Wacken-
hut IV. Karl was a proud WWII veteran hav-
ing served in the Army Air Corps in England
as a Technical Sergeant and communica-
tions specialist. After the war, he attended
Drexel University where he earned his Bach-
elor’s and Master's degrees in Electrical En-
gineering. Over many years and well into his
80’s, Karl worked for and consulted with a
variety of major companies specializing in
fluid mechanics and nuclear energy. This
took him to many US East and West coast
cities and overseas, but he considered him-
self a Philadelphian throughout his product-
ive life. He was a lover of classical music,
opera and historical non-fiction, a dedicated
photographer, an active gardener, at home
carpenter, and a lifetime British car enthusi-
ast. He will be remembered for his brilliance,
cheerful disposition, his cooperative and op-
timistic spirit and his willingness to accept
with dignity whatever adversity he was faced
with. He always looked forward to tomorrow
and hoped for a more peaceful world for his
grandchildren. Memorial contributions may

31, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Es-

and David (Cynthia) Steinbrecher. He was the
very proud Grandfather of Jill (Gal) Buch-
