LAVINE LESHNER
Fannie Katz (nee Myers), age 97, died on
November 14, 2017. She was a retired med-
ical secretary who resided in Philadelphia,
PA. Wife of the late Hyman Katz; mother of
Joan (Eric) Kipnis and Janet Katz; sister of
Rose Siegel; and grandmother of Aaron and
Benjamin Kipnis. Contributions in her

RAPHAEL-SACKS KESSLER
Harriet Kessler (nee Zimmerman), age 83, of
Cherry Hill, died on October 29, 2017. Born
in Queens, New York, Harriet attended
Queens College and received her Master of
Arts Degree in Linguistics from Columbia
University. She settled in the South Jersey
area in the 1960's, eventually becoming the
editor and general manager of the Jewish
Community Voice of Southern New Jersey.
Harriet loved to cook and entertain guests, at-
tend the symphony and theater, read a good
book, and participate in movie and book
clubs, along with her long-time dinner dis-
cussion group, which had recently become
more of a lunch group. She was a fan of a
good pun, sapphire martinis, and world
travel. She is survived by her children and
their spouses who will miss her dearly, Perry
and Lara Kessler, and Sybil and Joel Sanc-
hez, her three grandchildren who brought her
great joy, Sam and Zak Kessler, and
Shprintzy Sanchez, and her remaining niece,
nephew, cousins, and extended family. Har-
riet is predeceased by her sister, Fran May-
berry. In honor of Harriet's wishes, a celebra-
tion of her life will gather in lieu of a funeral.

Martin Lenow died on November 13, 2017 in
Chicago, IL. Moish was born on December
23, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated
from Central High School and then obtained
his BS in Physics from Temple University.
He later obtained his Masters' Degree in
Business Administration and Professional
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Drexel University. He also attended classes
at Gratz College in Judaic Studies. Moish
served in the Navy during WW II. After WW
II, Moish entered his family business, At-
lantic Plumbing & Heating Supply and be-
came its President after his father retired.
Moish then worked for the Boeing Vertol
Company in Philadelphia as a Systems Ana-
lyst and then was recruited by the Pullman
Standard Company of Chicago as a Vice
President. Moish worked for several other
large companies in the Chicago area before
retiring. After moving to Chicago, Moish be-
came an active member of the Anshe Emet
Synagogue and taught Torah education class
for twenty-five years.
