MAYER DEATH NOTICES
MAYER Dr. Leslie Gordon Mayer died in her home on
November 12, 2019 in Gladwyne, PA. She
was 69. Dr. Mayer was born on September
29, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA to Jeanette and
Charles Gordon. She graduated from Skid-
more College with a bachelor’s degree in
education and obtained her PhD in psycho-
logy from the University of Pennsylvania. She
married David Mayer in 1976 and had two
children, Jason and Emily. Leslie and David
divorced, and in 1994 she married the late Al-
lan Kalish of Philadelphia. Dr. Mayer worked
as a private practice psychotherapist for 13
years prior to founding Mayer Leadership
Group, where she delivered one-on-one
coaching to senior executives and boards of
directors for the balance of her career. Dr.
Mayer was a devoted daughter, sister, moth-
er, grandmother, and friend. She was a pa-
tient and supportive person with a passion
for literacy and music. She played five music-
al instruments, wrote original songs, and
wrote and put on a musical entitled "Jobbed"
about downsizing in the early 2000's U.S.
economy. Inspiring creativity and passion in
others was her life-long goal. Dr. Mayer is
survived by her son and daughter-in-law,
Jason and Jennifer Mayer; her daughter and
son-in-law, Emily Mayer and Cory McCrum-
men; her brother Tod Gordon and wife Ad-
rienne; her sister Nancy-Beth Sheerr; her
mother Jeanette Gordon; her partner Steph-
en Galanter, and four grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by her father, Charles. In

Rochelle (Rocky) Noch of Holland, PA passed
on November 2nd, in Langhorne, PA due to
complications from cardiac arrest. She was
73. The daughter of Charles and Edith Gal-
man, she was born in Philadelphia, PA and
moved to Levittown as a young girl. She
graduated from Delhaas High School in Levit-
town and worked for the Social Security Ad-
ministration in Bristol Township for 34 years.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, her
step-daughter, Erin, step-son, Evan, sons-in-
law, Sam Longair and Brian Satran, as well as
grandchildren, Spencer, Cooper, and Remy
Satran. Rocky enjoyed cooking, shopping for
her grandchildren, making baby blankets, go-
ing to lunch with her girlfriends, and watch-
ing her favorite show, General Hospital. She
will be remembered for her love and devo-

Year’s Eve 2011, she went out dancing to cel-
ebrate her life. She remained a brave role
model not only to her family but provided
strength to other patients alongside her. She

RUBIN Barbara Toby Rubin (nee Bernstein), age 89,
resident of West Palm Beach, Florida and
lately of North Wales, PA, passed away on
November 6, 2019 following a valiant battle
against cancer. Barbara was born in Phil-
adelphia, Pa to Isadore and Nettie Bernstein.
She was raised in Oak Lane, attended Ger-
mantown High School and Temple University.
At Temple, she met the love of her life,
Robert and they married on September 9,
1951. Barbara enjoyed painting, Mah Jong,
chocolate, Hadassah, Broadway shows and
most of all, ballroom dancing with her dance
partner of 69 years, Robert. Barbara and
Robert retired to Florida in 1982 and lived
there happily until returning to North Wales
to be with their children during her recent ill-
ness. Barbara is preceded in death by her
parents and brother, William. She is survived
by her husband, Robert, son, Gary (Terry),
daughter, Mindi (Bob), son, David (Kimberly)
and daughter, Gwen (Jan). Barbara is also
survived by 11 loving grandchildren: Josh,
Jessica (Phillip), Ari (Alexandra), Mikayla,

SCHWARTZ Molly Zevin Schwartz, born March 3, 1915 in
Philadelphia passed away October 31 at Ar-
den Courts Memory Care, Northbrook, IL.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur
(Duke) Schwartz and loving mother of the
late Joseph and the late Bernard (Lorna
Sealine Schwartz) and grandmother of Eric
Schwartz, Adena Schwartz Long, and Jessica
Schwartz. Devoted daughter of the late Jen-
nie (nee Friedman) and Samuel Zevin and
caring sister of Rose Steinberg, Bess Weiss
and Albert Zevin who all predeceased her.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving

SKOLNIK Martin Skolnik, 96, of King of Prussia passed
away on Friday, November 1, 2019 at his
home in the Valley Forge Towers. He had pre-
viously lived in Coatesville until 1990 and
also spent several winters in Delray Beach,
FL. He was the beloved husband of Eva
Pogach Skolnik, with whom he shared 71
years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was
the son of the late Morris and Edith Skolnik.
He was a 1943 graduate of Coatesville High
School, then entered the US Army that sum-
mer, proudly serving his country in Europe
during WW II. After being discharged from
the Army in 1946, he returned to Coatesville,
and entered the family business of Skolnik’s
Army and Navy. He owned and operated the
business for 70 years, changing it to Coates-
ville Army and Navy in the early 1970’s and
finally retiring at the age of 91 for health
reasons. He was involved in many com-
munity and civic organizations. He was a long
time member of the Western Chester County
Chamber of Commerce, serving in many
roles including as President for several years.
He also was a frequent volunteer at the
Coatesville VA Hospital, and hired several
discharged patients over the years to work at
his store. He also had a long history and in-
volvement at Beth Israel synagogue. He was
a life-long member of the congregation, hav-
ing been Bar Mitzvahed there in 1936 and
served in leadership roles both as President
of Binai Brith and as the President of the con-
gregation. In addition to his wife Eva, he is
survived by his children Barry, Judy and
Mark (Leslie), and also by his three grand-
children Gregory, Joseph and Julie Altman
(Thayer). He was predeceased in death by his
three brothers Robert, Herman and David.
