Bernice “Bunny” Randall (nee Davis) of Erd-
enheim, PA, passed away on Saturday,
November 3, 2018 at age 87. She was the
beloved wife of the late Sol Randall, adored
daughter of the late Isadore and Teenie Davis
(nee Sattler) and the devoted sister to the late
Merle (Jimmy) Davis. She was the loving
Mother of Jeffrey and Kathe (nee Deason)
Randall of Grapevine, TX, Tina and Matthew
Murphy of Hampden, MA and Lee Randall
and Michael Avicolli of New Hope, PA. Cher-
ished Grandmother of Matthew Murphy of
Hampden, MA and Samantha Murphy of
Tempe, AZ. She is survived by her stepson,
Michael and his wife Cathie (nee Berg) Ran-
dall and their son, Seth. In addition to her
children, Bunny was a devoted Aunt to Lynn
(nee Davis) and Jimmy Elmore, Karen (nee
Davis) and Brian Gatchell and Terry and Traci
(nee Sallinger) Davis, as well as the loving
cousin to Martin and Andrea Sattler and Paul
and Jo Anne Sattler. She is remembered by
many dear, great nieces, nephews and cous-
ins. Bunny was born and raised in Fairmont,
WV. She was a graduate of Ohio State Uni-
versity and an active member of the Hillel or-
ganization. Following graduation from Ohio
State, she began her career as a Radiology
Technician. While raising her family, she was
an avid volunteer in the Springfield Town-
ship School District and served as PTA Pres-
ident. She was a past member of the Beth
Tikvah-B’Nai Jeshurun Sisterhood. After rais-
ing her family she worked for 31 years at Aet-
na Healthcare as National Accounts/Eligibility
Specialist. Following her retirement at age 80,
Bunny enjoyed traveling, Maj-Jong, Canasta,
knitting and spending time visting with her
dear family and friends. Contributions in her

ROTHSCHILD RICHTER
Nettie Spungen Richter, daughter of Harry
Spungen and Dorothy Snyder Spungen, and
sister of Sidney Spungen, passed from our
lives on October 15, 2018 at age 87 after a
long life marked by many accomplishments.
Born in Philadelphia on April 25, 1931, she
attended Olney HS, Temple University (B.A.)
and Villanova University (M.A.). Nettie was a
first and second grade teacher, working 25
years at Myers Elementary in Cheltenham
Township, PA. She still has students who re-
member her nurturing. Nettie described her
marriage to Rick Richter as long, interesting
and never dull! She helped Rick with several
businesses. Rick was a private pilot, and to-
gether, they were active in Aircraft Owners &
Pilots Association (AOPA) and traveled all
along the east coast and coastal Canada. In
1986, she and her husband moved west from
the Philly area to Albuquerque, NM, where
they lived for 31 years, making many friends.
Nettie became a Master Gardener and en-
joyed this network immensely. She also
joined Prudential as a Financial Planner. She
and Rick traveled throughout the west and
flew their plane to Oshkosh AirVenture. To-
gether with their daughter and son-in-law,
they helped build a Light Sport Aircraft and
volunteered with aviation activities connec-
ted to the Experimental Aircraft Association
(EAA) Chapter 179. Just last year, Nettie and
Rick relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida.
Nettie was involved in organizations that
helped people better their lives. The most im-
portant to her was the American Diabetes As-
sociation (ADA) where she pioneered the par-
ticipation of laypeople in the Greater Phila af-
filiate when her oldest daughter developed ju-
venile diabetes. She helped at a camp for dia-
betic children (Camp Firefly in Spring Mount,
PA), raised money with Rick for diabetes pro-
grams, organized the first National Youth
Committee & Youth Congress, originated and
authored Kids Korner (always an advocate for
children and families!) for Diabetes Forecast
magazine, served as an acclaimed National
Secretary, and received many awards, includ-
ing a Lifetime Achievement Award, for her
dedicated volunteer work. Nettie is survived
by her beloved husband Rick, daughters
Kathy Richter-Sand (Robert Richter-Sand)
and Eileen Richter (Paul Livant), grandchil-
dren Erica Bentley, Matt Sand (Lily Sand),
Hannah Livant and great-grandchildren Layla
Sand, Eli Watson, and Parsa Sand. She is
also survived by her brother Sidney Spungen
(Betty Spungen), many beloved nieces, neph-
ews and cousins, and treasured friends. A
celebration honoring Nettie’s remarkable life
will be arranged at a future date. Nettie would

ROVNER Felice Lewis Rovner, 98, of Galloway passed
away on November 5th of natural causes.
Raised in Atlantic City, Felice lived in Mar-
gate City and West Palm Beach with her hus-
band of 66 years Harvey Rovner, who prede-
ceased her in 2011. Following graduation
from ACHS (where she later taught English),
Felice attended the NJ College for Women-
Douglass College. During WWII she worked
on ENIAC, the world’s first electronic general-
purpose computer Felice and mother Mollye
helped create the local Golda Meir Hadassah
chapter and together hosted “Hadassah
Speaks” on WMID. Felice loved writing,
painting, music, traveling and her beloved
beach and boardwalk. She co-authored “A
Farmer’s Daughter-Bluma” with longtime
friend Bluma Bayuk Rappaport Purmell. She
is survived by children Neil Rovner of Harris-
burg, Pa.; William Rovner (Donna) of Rob-
binsville, N.J.; and, Saralee Rovner Leary
(Tim) of Portsmouth, R.I.; grandchildren:
Adam Rovner (Jessica), Matthew Rovner,
Miriam Rovner, Melissa Faria (Matt), Michael
Rovner, Andrea Hebert (Shawn), and Virginia
Leary; great-grandchildren: Eli Brown, Talia

SACHS Donald H Sachs, November 10, 2018, 74
years old. Beloved husband of Kathie Beck
Sachs; Devoted father of Carl B. Sachs; Lov-
ing brother to Richard A. Sachs. Don was
born in New Orleans on March 11, 1944, son
of the late Eleanore (née Weiss) and Dr. Ben-
jamin Sachs. He grew up in Hartford, CT, re-
ceived a PhD in psychology from Purdue Uni-
versity, and worked as a marketing analyst
for Merck, Inc. After retiring from Merck, he
and Kathie enjoyed the good life by traveling
throughout Europe, taking adult education
classes, and attending cultural events. For
many years, Kathie and Don enjoyed regular
attendance of the Philadelphia Orchestra and
Opera Philadelphia. Don had a deep appreci-
ation for classical music especially Verdi and
Mahler and for contemporary Irish music. He
was also a faithful fan of the Philadelphia
Eagles (whether they won or lost!). Don’s
sweetness and sense of decency and hon-
esty will be greatly missed by his loving and
cherished family. Contributions may be made

David Sandler, 1935-2018, died on Novem-
ber 2, 2018 in East Norriton, PA. David Sand-
ler was the brother of Bette Hutton (Sewickly,
PA), and the beloved husband of Irena Sand-
ler (East Norriton, PA). He was the father of
five daughters: Lauren Zurier (and Sam Zuri-
er) of Providence, RI; Julie Roat (and Mel
Roat) of Wynnewood, PA; Amy Rubin (and
Seth Rubin) of Flemington, NJ; Sherry Pearl-
stein (and John Pearlstein) of Bryn Mawr,
PA, and Valerie Thaler (and Alex Thaler) of
Reisterstown, MD. He was the beloved
grandfather of Rachel, Hannah and Joe Zuri-
er; Jordana, Elyse and Adam Roat; Danielle
and Allie Rubin; Jake, Jared, Tessa and Joelle
Pearlstein, and Sabrina Thaler. Born in 1935
to Sara and Nathan Sandler, David Sandler
attended Norristown Public Schools and the
Wharton School at the University of
Pennsylvania, where he received a BA in Eco-
nomics in 1957. He was a CPA for Dreslin
and Company, Inc from 1958 until 2017, and
an active member of Tiferet Bet Israel Con-
gregation. He lived his entire life in the Nor-
ristown area. His funeral was held Monday,
November 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Tiferet Bet Israel
Congregation, 1920 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell,
PA. Burial took place at Tiferet Bet Israel

philanthropies across Philadelphia. For over a
decade, she was also instrumental in raising
funds for The Wistar Institute. Relatives and

SKALSKY Michelle Louise (Skalsky) Simon, age 67,
passed away on November 9, 2018 at her
residence. She was born on May 1, 1951 in
Philadelphia PA to Edith and Bob Skalsky
whom named her "my Michelle" She gradu-
ated from Cheltenham High School, Temple
University undergraduate, and Villanova Law
School in 1976, one of only a few female law-
yers at the time. Michelle was married to the
love of her life, Michael, for more than 40
years. Michelle and Michael had two beauti-
ful children Lisa and Marc. The family lived in
Rydal, PA for several years. She had a suc-
cessful law practice, trading as Tyson Legal
Center, in Northeast Philadelphia. She was
active in the community and committed to
several charities including Golden Slipper
Club & Charities and Jewish Adoption and
Family Care Options (JAFCO).These charities
fulfilled Michelle's dream that all children
should have an opportunity for a healthy and
happy life. She was honored by Golden Slip-
per with the Horatio Alger Award, served on
the JAFCO board of directors and received its
Woman of Valor award.

2018, of Bala Cynwyd, PA; Beloved wife of

mother of Jacob, David, Rachel and Matthew.
Phyllis, a retired high school teacher and of-
fice manager of her husband’s medical prac-
tice, loved her family and was very appreciat-
ive of her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Erica Paulette Van Adelsberg (nee Herz), of
Wynnewood, PA, passed peacefully on 16
November 2018. Loving mother of Judith
(Michael) Berman and David (Lisa) van Ad-
elsberg; grand-mother of Oren (Ines) and
Noah (Naama) Berman, Hunter and Anastas-
ia van Adelsberg; great-grandmother of Nina
Berman; sister of Ernest Hilton; former wife
of the late Martin van Adelsberg. Erica was a
life-long educator and retired as the Director
of Foreign Languages of the Philadelphia
School District. She was a holocaust surviv-
or and generously shared, with people of all
ages around the globe, her story of finding
humanity even in the darkest of times. She
published the story of her life, "Feeling Great
and Grateful", in 2013. To honor her legacy
and further her mission of spreading under-
standing and tolerance, donations in lieu of

WEINBAUM Alexander S Weinbaum, III, died on Novem-
ber 1st in Rye, NY. He was born in Nashville,
Tennessee on February 6th, 1932 where he
lived until he graduated from Vanderbilt Uni-
versity. He then joined the army where he
studied Russian at the Defense Language In-
stitute in Monterey, California. After complet-
ing his army service, he settled in Phil-
adelphia. He served as a librarian at The Free
Library of Philadelphia where he managed the
Business, Science & Industry and Newspa-
per departments. His many interests in-
cluded reading, languages, hiking, astro-
nomy, as well as stamp and coin collecting.
He was a long time member of Congregation
Shaare Shamayim where he was active in the
Men’s Club. He was the beloved husband of
Miriam (nee Brown); adored by his children
Ann Sacher(Bill) and Steven(Janet) and 5
grandchildren, Emily and Alexandra Sacher
and Seth, Elliot and Adina Weinbaum. Contri-
