loved husband of Eva Abraham-Podietz and
the late Lenore Podietz. Loving father of Eva-

Lauren, Chase, Emma, and the late Aaron.

RAPHAEL-SACKS Our family is saddened to share the passing
of Joan Polin (nee Skaroff) on April 28, 2020.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Jerry
Polin. She is survived by daughters Carol
(Yossi) Sheffer, Rabbi Mimi Polin (Stephen)
Ferraro and Sandra (Michael) Goldberg. She
is survived by 11 grandchildren, Avital (Ne-
tanel), Eitan (Paz), Lior, Yoav, Jocelyn
(Zach), Allyson (Zach), Benjamin, Erica,
Emily David and Samantha and great grand-
mother to Owen. Joan is also survived by her
brother Arthur (Debra) Skaroff and nieces
and their families. Joan has resided at Ab-
ramson Center for Jewish Life for several
years where she received excellent care. Joan
loved to cook and bake and spent most of her
life around food and people. Her favorite job
of all was working at Starbucks where she af-
fectionately became known as Bubby Latte.
She established a strong Jewish home for
her family including a strong connection to
Camp Ramah in the Poconos which was one
of the greatest influences on who our family
is and what has become. The services will be
private due to Covid-19 and no public shiva
observed due to the virus as well. Donations

Devoted sister of Phyllis Ploener. Raised in
Westchester PA, Diane (Didi) graduated from
The University of Pennsylvania and in her
senior year met the love of her life sweet
Poppy. She was his true partner for 47 years
and they shared everything with one another
speaking multiple times a day. Together they
instilled in their children and grandchildren
the unrelenting power of family. Although
profoundly saddened by Poppy's passing 14
years ago, she was never alone and was al-
ways surrounded by her children, her grand-
children and her caring companion Tess who
all adored her. She was a great conversation-
alist and never ceased to light up a room with
her warm, sweet and infectious smile. She
was known for her impeccable style, grace
and elegance. She was a true lady. Services
and interment will be private at Haym Sa-
lomon Memorial Park. The family requests

POPOWICH Beverly R. Popowich (nee Korman). Born in
Philadelphia to Fanny and Sam Korman,
Beverly attended Girls High School and
graduated from the University of
Pennsylvania as an Occupational Therapist.
Beverly and Lenny raised their family in
Green Hill Farms, PA and Margate, NJ. She
died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, April
25 th . Beverly will be remembered as a Gutte
Neshama, a loving wife, mother, bubbe, sis-
ter, aunt, and friend. Beverly had a genuine
passion for life and brought out the best in
everyone. She saw the positive in every situ-
ation. Beverly understood the value of time
and was incredibly generous with hers in the
support of the things she held dear. She was
a docent at the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
involved with Mural Arts Philadelphia, and
active in her support of Solomon Schechter
Day School and Akiba Hebrew Academy, as
well as Manna. She was bright, progressive,
intuitive, gracious, supportive, and loving.
She didn’t sweat the small stuff and knew for
herself what was important. Bev thrived on
having a constant stream of people through
her home, and they flocked there to be nour-
ished and embraced by her warmth and love.
She was an active and unassuming listener,
asking pertinent questions and making each
person feel heard and valued. Those fortu-
nate to have known her felt she touched their
lives in many profound ways and were so
much richer for having known her. Beverly is
survived by her loving husband of 62 years,
Dr. Leonard Popowich; her daughters De-
borah Korus (Gary), and Wendy Popowich;
her grandchildren Alex Korman, Max, Han-
nah, and Sam Korus; and many nieces and
nephews. Donations in her memory may be
made to the Preservation Hall Foundation,
Manna, and the Jewish Federation of Greater

of Havertown died April 28, 2020. She was
the wife of the late Bernard and mother of
Carol Rosenfeld, the daughter of the late Max
and the late Sarah (nee: Flicker) Posner.
Mrs. Rosenfeld was predeceased by her sib-
lings Albert Posner and Gertrude Jacobs.
Mrs. Rosenfeld was a secretary at Tilden Jr.
High and Bartram High School in Phil-
adelphia for many years. Contributions in her

ROSSMAN Beth Rossman (Koplin), of Philadelphia died
peacefully at home on May 7, 2020. Beth was
born May 26, 1944 in St. Petersburg, FL.,
lived in Camden through high school, gradu-
ated Rutgers. She was an avid arts admirer,
particularly Met Opera NYC; patron of Phil-
adelphia culture. Beth was a gracious pres-
ence in Center City where she made lifelong
friends. Beth is survived by husband Ronald
E. Rossman, MD, loving daughter Lauren
Rosenfield (Gary), granddaughter Daniella
Rosenfield, sister Ilana Kaye (Michael), cous-
ins, and friends. Beth’s life will be celeb-

RUDIN Eve Rudin (nee Rochlin) 103, of Philadelphia,
Pa. and Delray Beach, Fl., died on April 25,
2020 from COVID-19. Daughter of Bessie
Rochlin, she was the first in her family to be
born (1916) in America. Beloved wife of the
late Bernard Rudin for 70 years, she worked
with him to develop a successful fuel oil busi-
ness, sometimes pumping gas into large oil
trucks. Born before women had the right to
vote, she became a supporter of women’s
rights and one of the first woman of her gen-
eration to drive a car. She was a talented
seamstress, and an early liberal political act-
ivist, working for Adlai Stevenson and against
Joe McCarthy, and she adamantly believed in
equal opportunity for all. She loved spending
summers with extended family in Ocean
Gate, NJ., teaching swimming to her then
young nieces and nephews; She enjoyed the
ballet, opera, and art museums, and bridge,
playing later with new friends at the Water-
mark. Loving mother of Marion Rudin Frank
and son-in-law Vincenzo Sanguineti; De-
voted grandmother of Jillian Frank; Adoring
great-grandmother of Elijah and Benjamin
Rhyne. She enjoyed her step-grandchildren
Deborah Sanguineti (Ron Roach) and Con-
rad Sanguineti and step-grandchildren Julia
and Nicholas Roach. She cherished her large
family, her many nieces and nephews and
grand and great nieces and nephews, all who
celebrated her in many birthday parties in her
