passing of our beloved Melva Rosalyn (nee
Devens) Klebanoff, 95, of Langhorne, Pa.
Melva passed away at The Brunswick of At-
tleboro on May 12, 2020 from COVID-19.
Her fierce independence, kind spirit, compas-

PA. She graduated from William Penn HS,

mers painting vistas at workshops along the
East Coast and abroad. She enjoyed visiting
museums and attending classical music con-
certs while sketching the musicians. She had
a brilliant mind and a lifelong love of learning.
Melva had a sharp wit, was a voracious read-

HOROWITZ Arlene M. Horowitz (Fratkin), 78, of Wyn-
newood, beloved wife, mother, sister, cousin,
Bubbie, friend, passed away at peace on the
evening of May 3rd due to complications of
COVID-19. She fought a nearly lifelong battle
with T1 Diabetes coupled later in life with
heart disease and other health challenges.
Described by her brother as a rising phoenix,
she was not defined by her illnesses, rather
we will remember her for her humor and
strength. An animal lover since birth, her
childhood summers were fondly spent at
Pinemere Camp where she went on to be-
come a counselor with keen archery skills. As
a student and later an educator, she re-
mained active as an alum of Overbrook HS
Class of January 1959. Earning her degree in
elementary education at Penn State in 1962,
she was a founding member of the campus
chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. She
built a career in the arts, education and ad-
ministration. Arlene was preceded in death by
her parents Ralph Fratkin and Mildred Fratkin
(Levin). She is survived by her husband of

David Horowitz and Julie Horowitz-Jackson
(Donald); siblings Susan Fratkin Sherman, El-
liot Fratkin (Marty Nathan), and Jake Fratkin

grand nieces and a grand nephew. Perhaps
Arlene’s greatest joy was being Bubbie to her

birds, and butterflies. In lieu of flowers, dona-
