FELDLEYFER FISHMAN
GOLDBERG HELLER
Sarra Feldleyfer, resident of Cherry Hill NJ
since 1981, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at
Virtua Hospital in Voorhees NJ. She was 92
years old. The funeral was held at Platt Me-
morial Chapels on Monday January 16, 2017.

She was buried at Locustwood Memorial
Park in Cherry Hill NJ. Daughter of the late
Berl and Eva Feldleyfer. Wife of the late
Simeon Salzberg. Mother of Felix (Lyudmila)
Salzberg of Cherry Hill NJ, Irene Salzberg
(Nigel Meachen) of Valley Forge PA, the late
Oleg Salzberg and the late Alick Salzberg.

Grandmother of Eve and Greg Salzberg and
Claire Meachen. Sister of Mendel (Ella) Feld-
leyfer of South Bend IN, and the late Tsiva
Sklyarova. Aunt of Genie and Nicki Feldleyfer,
and Stella Braslavsky. She also left behind
numerous loving relatives and friends. Sarra
was born in 1924 outside of Kiev Ukraine
(former USSR) and then moved to Baku
Azerbaijan (USSR) in her teen years. She re-
ceived a Mechanical Engineering degree from
Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University
(Baku Azerbaijan USSR). She worked for
many years in Azerbaijan (USSR). She led an
HVAC department in Sumgait, Azerbaijan for
5 to 10 years before mandatory retirement at
age 55. After retirement in the Soviet Union,
she moved to the USA in 1981. She worked
at Kling Lindquist Inc. and then United Engin-
eering/ Raytheon in Philadelphia PA until she
retired in 1998 at the age of 73. After retire-
ment, she spent time helping raise her grand-
children and influenced the educational direc-
tion they take today. She used her business
and engineering mind to help the community
where she lived. One of her legacies is the
pedestrian light crossing at Chestnut Street
and Route 38 in Cherry Hill, NJ. When all
crossing gaps on NJ Rt. 38 were closed, that
blocked people from crossing Route 38
between Cherry Hill Mall and a circle, she got
a petition together, drew up drawings to
demonstrate the problem and was able to
convince the local government that this
crossing was essential to the community and
businesses in the area. Two years later, a
pedestrian crossing light was installed and
Cherry Hill Township and the Freeholders of
Camden County NJ honored Sarra for this
project. Since 2005 this pedestrian crossing
light has benefited many people in the com-
munity and will for many years to come. Con-
tributions in memory of Sarra Feldleyfer may

Judaism isn’t just what we believe, or the prayers
we recite or the laws we observe. It’s also about
the way we live. How we interact with others.

The values we practice. The customs and traditions
we embrace and pass down, from one generation
to the next.
