Philadelphia to Carrie Pollack and Lucien
Katzenberg, Dene attended the Oak Lane
Country Day School, Simon Gratz High
School, and the University of Pennsylvania.

She lived all her life among her many cous-

Tripp Lake Camp, traveling the world, paint-
ing, antiques, reading, and laughing. She was
a life-long patron of the orchestra, opera,
theaters, and museums of Philadelphia. The
character trait she most admired was “stick-

BOGUTZ Helene Ross Bogutz, February 25, 2017, 79
yrs., of Jupiter, Florida and Ventnor, New Jer-
sey lost her long, courageous battle with
ovarian cancer on February 25, 2017. Helene
was a true inspiration to many during the last
six years (as she was through the rest of her
life), as she fought with grace, dignity and
strength, never giving in to the disease,
through the very end. Helene is survived by
her loving husband and best friend of 56
years Jerome Bogutz, children Marc (Laurie)
Bogutz of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and Tami
Bogutz Steinberg of Voorhees, New Jersey,
sister Lenore Koplin (Paul) Seidman of
Henderson, Nevada, grandchildren Stephanie
Bogutz, Jessica Bogutz and Ariel Steinberg
and step-grandchildren Avital, Nadiv and
Benjamin Steinberg. Helene was born in
Philadelphia, PA on July 27, 1937. She was
the daughter of the late Betty and Jack Ross.

A graduate of Temple University with a B.A.

in Education, Helene taught second grade in
the Philadelphia school system. She later co-
owned and operated a party decorating busi-
ness on the Main Line in the late 70's/early
80’s. Helene was active in the American
Friends of Hebrew University and was
honored with Jerry as Founders of Hebrew
University in Jerusalem. Helene was in-
volved in local, state and national Bar Associ-
ation activities for over forty years with Jerry.

She brought her energy, passion and self-
lessness to the many charitable and com-
munity works she was involved in over the
years. Her great loves were her family and
friends, traveling, painting, needlepoint, golf-
ing, gardening, theater, reading and simply
enjoying life. Helene’s final thoughts re-
mained focused on the issues of others
rather than her own. Helene wanted future
ovarian cancer patients to face a better out-
look. Helene’s focus was on early detection,
something almost nonexistent today. After
spending time with the Director of The Penn
Ovarian Cancer Research Center (part of the
Abramson Cancer Center), Helene and Jerry
established the Helene Ross Bogutz Ovarian
Cancer Early Detection Fund at the Ab-
ramson Cancer Center, which will be funding
the first Helene Ross Bogutz Conference on
early detection on October 16, 2017. The
Conference will be hosted by doctors from
the Abramson Cancer Center with speakers
and attendees from major hospitals and re-
search centers from around the country.

Hopefully, the collaboration will accelerate
progress on early detection. Helene was op-
timistic that new treatments, cures and pre-
vention of ovarian cancer are achievable.

Helene wanted her greatest legacy, beyond
her family, to be an increased focus on this
somewhat neglected disease and attract oth-
ers to support the effort. Relatives and
friends were invited to Services at Beth Am
Temple, 2259 Central Blvd., Jupiter, Florida
on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. The
burial followed at the Star of David Cemetery
of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park
Rd, West Palm Beach, Florida. The family
asked that contributions in Helene’s memory
be made to benefit the Helene Ross Bogutz
Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Fund at the
Abramson Cancer Center c/o Carolyn Brown,
3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia,

Herbert S Cutler died peacefully at home on
March 8, 2017. Born in 1920, he grew up in
the Depression and was always highly motiv-
ated to do his best. Becoming a Boy Scout in-
troduced him to his lifelong interests of bird-
ing, photography and a love of Nature. He be-
came an Eagle Scout and a member of the
Delaware Valley Ornithological Club in 1939
where he was a pioneering birder. His high IQ
qualified him for officers training where he
became a 2nd Lieutenant bombardier/navig-
ator in the US Army Air Corps in WWII. In
1946 he worked at Perfect Photo and met
Elizabeth Croll. They married in 1949 and had
a wonderful, inspiring marriage for 67 years
which begat 3 children, 8 grandchildren & 1
great grandson. He was one of the happiest
family men in the world and appreciated his
dear extended family. His life centered on
family, business & travel. After working in the
photographic industry for 18 years, he
opened his own camera store, Cutler Camera,
in 1965. There were 14 stores by the time he
retired in 1997. He wrote a column for Photo
Marketing Association; was on the board of
Photographic Research Organization; atten-
ded & helped organize conventions on a na-
tional level and was honored for his service.

He was proud that his sons continued the
family business and of the many achieve-
ments of his grandchildren. He and Elizabeth
traveled to all 7 continents and about 75
countries. They visited quite remote areas to
study birds and to Japan & China for photo
industry trips that were groundbreaking at
that time. Herbert’s generosity was well
known and his values of honesty, loyalty,
trustworthiness & integrity have been in-
stilled in all of us. At 96 years, he was the
longest-lived in his family and our patriarch.

He was an exceptional provider, a devoted
husband, father & brother and a truly good
man. He will be deeply missed. Herbert is
survived by: his sister, Augusta Gammon &

Charles Shaw Domsky. Feb. 22, 2017. After
a brave struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

Survived by his wife of 57 years Ellie (nee
Sokolow). Father of Jason (Amy). Survived
by grandson Jordan and granddaughter Al-
exa. Brother of Libby Feldman (Steven). He
was predeceased by his son Adam. He was
the owner and president of Domsky and Si-
mon Advertising Agency until he retired to
paint in 2007. Charles Domsky always knew
that art was the door to the depth of his self-
expression. He won 2 scholarships to the
Philadelphia College of Art, where he gradu-
ated in 1959. The rigors of business preven-
ted him from more actively pursuing his deal
dream…art. That all changed when he was
diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Refus-
ing to picture walls closing in on him, he
painted an escape door and exploded through
it into the next stage of his life; a stage where
he would devote all of his time and energy to
his artwork. Charles submitted works to “All
About Art” at Moss Rehab for several years
and his artwork is in public and corporate
collections. Numerous pieces have been ac-
quired by Deloitte, a major international ac-
counting and consulting firm, Moss Rehab
Hospital and Princeton University Medical
Center. Contributions in his memory may be
made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
