Deena Levin Kramer passed away peacefully
on June 7, 2017 at age 76. Born September
12, 1940 in Philadelphia, Deena was the
daughter of Marion (Landis) and Henry Levin.
She was the beloved wife of Milton Kramer
who passed in 2001. Deena was the loving
mother of Max Kramer, Hannah Flancer
(Gary), Lee Kramer and cherished grand-
mother of Jake, Matthew, Jack, Gabrielle,
Daniel. She is also survived by her brothers
Jonah Levin and Herbie Levin. Services were

Rosalyn C. Levick (“Cookie”) died on
Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Hillcrest Cen-
ter in Wyncote, PA. She was 82 years of
age. Born in Philadelphia she was the daugh-
ter of the late George and Nan Cherry. osalyn
was formerly a resident of Jenkintown. Mrs.
Levick was an artist. Her paintings were dis-
played at a number of art shows and gift
shops. Rosalyn enjoyed dancing and had
previously taught ballroom dancing at Arthur
Murray. Rosalyn was the beloved wife of the
late Morris Levick. She was the devoted
mother to Cindy, Larry and Adam Levick
(Chana) and the late Randi Levick. She was
the loving grandmother of Arielle, Jordan,
Jeremy, Olivia, Harrison and Aliza; she was
the great grandmother of Bryce. She is also
survived by her sister Sheila Waldman. Ser-
vices were held on Thursday, May 18, 2017
at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry
Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Rosa-
lyn interment was in Shalom Memorial Park.

MARKOWITZ Jay M. Markowitz, Columbia, SC, a native of
Philadelphia, passed away on June 7, 2017
following a brief battle with cancer. Dr.
Markowitz was a graduate of Villanova Uni-
versity and Temple University School of
Medicine and practiced medicine for over 40
years in Columbia SC. He was held in the
highest esteem by his colleagues and pa-
tients alike. He is survived by his wife De-
borah, brother Gerald, sister Marsha, and his
sons Jonathan and Brad, as well as nieces
and nephews who adored him.

DEATH NOTICES
PEARLSTEIN Robert S. Pearlstein, 84, of Boca Raton and
Philadelphia, June 20, 2017. Bob, was a
longtime real estate broker and owner of Em-
pire Realty founded in 1960. He was a pion-
eer real estate professional specializing in
apartment buildings and personal care cen-
ters. He graduated Penn State University and
was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. While at
Olney High School and Penn State, Bob was
a member of the varsity track team that won
the ICAAA championship. He was the star
high jumper, long jumper and pole vaulter
and placed 2nd at the Penn Relays. Bob
proudly served as an officer of the army as a
2nd Lieutenant for 4 years. In 1961 Bob’s
150th armored calvary was recalled when
East Germany built the Berlin Wall. He en-
joyed playing golf, tennis, racquetball, bas-
ketball, skiing and sailing. He was honored
with the Jewish Basketball Hall of Fame
Award in 2011. Bob enjoyed playing the pi-
ano and writing his own songs. He com-
posed over 50 songs on the piano…all self-
taught. People enjoyed listening to his mu-
sic. His many friends and family will miss
him very much. Bob was born on Septem-
ber 19, 1932 in Philadelphia. Proceeding him
in death were his parents, Abraham and
Selma Pearlstein and his 3 brothers, Morton,
Marvin and Ronnie Pearlstein. He is survived
by his 3 children, Mark (Cammy) Pearlstein,
Michele (Tom Ruddy) Pearlstein-Ruddy and
Michael (Mindy) Pearlstein, his 5 grandchil-
dren, Nicole, Stephanie, Matthew, Emily and
Adam, and his 2 great-grandchildren Madis-
on and Parker. Contributions may be made to

Israel. Beloved wife of the late Martin; loving

sister of Phyllis Geller. Ida was an “Eishet
Chayil,” a Woman of Valor--courageous, in-

Zionist who made Aliyah with her husband 30
years ago. The funeral was held in Netanya,
