GLICK DEATH NOTICES
GLICK Sadly, Irving “Myer” Glick passed away
peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017.He was
born in Blonie, a suburb of Warsaw in Po-
land. He was the sole Holocaust survivor of
the family of 6 siblings and parents. He was
in the uprising of the Warsaw Ghetto as well
as the concentration camps of Majdanek and
Auschwitz-Birkenau. For many years he
spoke of his experiences to children of all
ages, as well as adults. He was the recipient
of the Miles Lerman Holocaust Education
Award for his dedication to keeping alive the
memory of the six million Jews who per-
ished. He was the owner of Tri-City Lumber
in Vineland and an active member of Beth Is-
rael Synagogue for many years. He served on
the Board of Directors, was a member of the
Men’s Club, sang in the synagogue choir and
was the shofar blower for the High Holidays
for many years. He was also a member of
B’nai Brith, the United States Holocaust Mu-
seum in Washington, DC and a proud Ha-
dassah Associate. He was honored several
times by the Bat Ami chapter of Hadassah for
his involvement in their projects and also
honored by the Southern New Jersey Region
of Hadassah. He was an accomplished ama-
teur artist in all media, including stained
glass. He had exhibits at the Vineland Public
Library as well as Cumberland County Col-
lege. He had won several ribbons at the Seni-
or Art Show, both locally and at the state
level. He loved taking videos of his children
and grandchildren. Three years ago he
moved to Marlton, NJ with his wife to be
closer to his children. He became a member
of Beth El congregation in Voorhees. He is
survived by his loving wife Nella (Distenfeld)
of 58 years, Children Eli Glick (Robin) of La-
fayette Hill, PA, Ethel Rosenberg, of Mount
Laurel, NJ & Susan Cancell, of Marlton NJ;
grandchildren Jason & Evan Rosenberg and
Samantha & Alexander Cancell, sister-in-law
Yetta Bergstein and several nieces, nephews
and cousins. The funeral was held Monday,
May 29, 2017 at 1pm at Beth Israel Syn-
agogue at 1015 E. Park Avenue in Vineland.
Interment followed at Alliance Cemetery on
Gershal Avenue in Norma, NJ. Memorial

Emanuel Harris, 95, of Warminster and
formerly of Shenandoah, passed away
Monday at Abington Memorial Hospital after
a brief illness. He was the son of the late Sam
Harris and Bertha Kaplan and the husband of
Ethel Factor Harris. Born in Shenandoah on
Feb. 2, 1922, Emanuel was the owner and
operator of the former Harris Bakery in Shen-
andoah. He was president of the Kehillat Is-
rael Congregation; treasurer of the B'nai
B'rith organization; member of the preserva-
tion committee of the Kehillat Israel
Cemetery; American Legion member; a mem-
ber of the former Shenandoah Elks Lodge;
and a World War ll Army veteran. Emanuel
was an avid student of history and current
events, an amateur auto mechanic and a dot-
ing family man who also loved to dance. He
was preceded in death by his two sisters,
Sara Harris Malett and Bess Harris Apple
Klitzner. In addition to his wife, he is sur-
vived by two children, Dr. Ronald Harris and
his wife Margery, and Sharon Harris Klein
and husband Steven Linhard; sister Dorothy
Harris Pollack; three grandchildren, David
Harris, Randi Harris and her husband Gor-
don Barron, and Michael Klein; granddaugh-
ters Porsha and Nasheema Linhard; and
nieces and nephews. Religious services were
held on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at noon at
the Kravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N.
Jardin St., Shenandoah with Rabbi Larry Ka-
plan officiating. Interment with full military
honors will follow at the Kehillat Israel
Cemetery in Sheanandoah Heights.

Nina Magil Hausner, on June 13, 2017. Be-
loved wife of the late Alan Hausner. sister of
Ronnie Allen (Herb), aunt of Wendy Miller
(Hal), great aunt of Paula and Jennifer Miller
and cousin of Cindy Taubman (Richard).
Also,daughter of Mildred and Leon Magil,
granddaughter of Jennie and Charles Gold-
man and Rose and Myer Magil, sister of Paul
(all deceased),). The Cheltenham resident
was flamboyant and colorful in art, dress and
personality. As an artist, she experimented in
many mediums. While she did printmaking,
created sculpture, designed jewelry and fash-
ioned dolls, her main focus was abstract
paintings in acrylic, watercolor and montage.
She flooded her work with luminous
colors.Nina’s goal was to stimulate and chal-
lenge her imagination as well as that of oth-
ers. Creating was as important to her as
breathing. In her 35 years of teaching art,
primarily in the Philadelphia School System,
she prized the enthusiasm reflected in the
faces of her students from 5 to 85 when cre-
ativity captured their spirit. Nina’s art is her
legacy. She wanted people who experienced
her work to smile, to be uplifted, to find their
own interpretation. Her training included the
Tyler School of Art where she received her
B.S. and M.A., along with the Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts,
Fleischer Art Memorial, Cheltenham Art Cen-
ter, Allen’s Lane Art Center and the Phil-
adelphia Museum of Art. Nina was raised in a
Kosher household and was a graduate of
Akiba Hebrew AcademyShe was imbued with
a reverence for Israel and visited 19 times.
Learning piano helped arouse Nina's pas-
sion for music. Starting to attend Phil-
adelphia Orchestra concerts as a child, she
continued that practice until this year. Along
with her art, Nina leaves behind her myriad
collection of friends and family. Family was
central in her life.The traditional family Shab-
bot dinners were the glue. Contributions can
be sent in Nina’s name to Friends of the Is-
rael Defense Forces.

Beloved wife of the late Victor Hoffman. De-

Barney Meyer Jacobs, 89, of Princeton, NJ
died on Friday June 2, 2017 at the University
Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro,
NJ. Born in Syracuse, NY, Mr. Jacobs resided
in Paterson, NJ and Fair Lawn, NJ before his
recent move to Princeton. He was the
owner/operator of Jay-Gee TV an electronics
repair establishment in Paterson. Mr. Jac-
obs was active in Temple Emanuel in Pater-
son, where he was a past president of the
Men’s Club. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Army, who served during World War II. Pre-
deceased by his wife of 39 years, Glenna Jac-
obs (nee Scolnick), Mr. Jacobs is survived by
his daughters and their husbands, Judith and
Richard Falkin of Springfield, NJ and Karen
and Howard Brooks of Southampton, PA.
Also surviving are his three grandchildren
and their spouses Jessica Gantman (Ken-
neth), Jaime Schultz (Michael) and Corey
Falkin (Erica) and his three great-grandchil-
dren Jake, Emma and Noah. Donations in

KAHN Sidney Joshua Kahn passed away peacefully
surrounded by family at age 85 on June 3,
2017 (10 Sivan 5777) in Sacramento, CA.
Born in Philadelphia to Arthur and Rose (née
Moskowitz) Kahn, Sidney attended Central
High School (192nd class) and the Phil-
adelphia College of Pharmacy and Science,
graduating in pharmacy in 1954. After com-
pleting a residency at Thomas Jefferson Hos-
pital in Philadelphia, he joined the U.S. Pub-
lic Health Service in 1955, working among
the Native American communities in South
Dakota until 1957. Sid had a long and distin-
guished career as a hospital pharmacist and
administrator, including as Director of Phar-
macy Services at Albert Einstein Medical Cen-
ter (Northern Division) and then Assistant Ex-
ecutive Director there. From his marriage to
Martha T. First in 1954, Sidney had four chil-
dren: Reuven (Carina Grossman), Randi (Ale-
jandro Cadji), Sara (Yossi Shapiro) and Liora
(Dave Plotkin). Martha and Sid built a warm
and supportive home, imbued with Jewish
and humanistic values, along with much
laughter. He remarried Judy Dlugach in
1986, then moving to Lititz, PA; in 2003 they
relocated to Walnut Creek CA. He also leaves
behind seven grandchildren (Ohad, Yael,
Shira, Raz, Isaac, Zeev and Autumn), and one
great grandchild (Ya’ara). He is survived by
his sister Lois Ruben of Los Angeles and was
predeceased by his sister Freida Capone.
Sidney Kahn was a charismatic, much-re-
spected and well-liked administrator and
leader, blessed with a great sense of humor,
technical expertise and a flair for storytelling
and crafts, along with wide intellectual in-
terests. He was a dedicated family man and
an exemplary father to his children, helping
to instill in them a strong sense of Jewish
identity, and responsibility to themselves,
their family and the wider community. Well
loved by friends and family, he will be greatly
missed. KANER
Lillian “Libby” Titlebaum Kaner, 89, of Rock-
ville, Maryland, previously of Milton and Can-
ton, Massachusetts and Tamarac, Florida
passed away at her home on June 8, 2017.
She was the beloved wife and best friend of
58 years of the late Melvin Kaner, she was
the much loved mother of Ellen and Bill Bres-
nick of Potomac, Maryland, Paul Kaner of
Sharon, Massachusetts, Debbi and Bob
Goldich of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and Mi-
chael and Barbara Kaner of Newtown,
Pennsylvania, the adored nana of Bethany
(Bresnick) and Jay Spector, Sara (Bresnick)
and Adam Tennen, Matthew Goldich and
Robyn Weinstein, Russell Goldich, Mitchell
Goldich, Shelly Kaner, Stephanie Kaner,
Jason Kaner and Joshua Kaner and the late
Max Steven Kaner. She was also the cher-
ished “GG” of Jordyn, Micah, Rylie, Blake,
Liam and Graham. She was also the daugh-
ter of the late Sarah and Myer Titlebaum of
Dorchester and the sister of the late Eliot
Tanner, Melvin Titlebaum and Ruth Glincher.
She was an active member of Sisterhood for
over 65 years, a life member of Hadassah, a
member of Eastern Star and a former presid-
ent of Parent’s League of Hebrew College.
Libby was employed by the Beth Israel Hos-
pital as a purchasing agent of medical and
surgical supplies for many years. She also
worked for the Department of the Navy dur-
ing World War II. Funeral services were held
at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washing-
ton Street, Canton, MA. on Sunday, June 11,
at 2pm. Interment followed at Sharon Me-
morial Park, Sharon, MA. Donations in
