grew up in Philadelphia and attended Central

York University School of Law. He ran his
own legal practice in Bensalem for over 20
years, and was an active member at Temple
Sinai Dresher, former Board member of
Camp Ramah, and taught at both Gratz and
Temple Sinai Hebrew High School. He was a
Philadelphia sports fanatic, a teacher and
mentor to many in the community, and a
fantastic husband, father and Sabbi. Contri-

LEACE Florence S. Leace (nee Sbar), age 94, passed
away peacefully on June 7, 2018. Born in
Camden, NJ, she moved to Philadelphia when
she married. She was a past congregant of
Shaare Shamayim (honored as woman of the
year 1980), Verree and Welsh Roads, Phil-
adelphia where she was an active member of
the sisterhood. She was an active volunteer
throughout her life, including the Bernard L.

Levinthal Chapter of B’nai Brith (honored as
woman of the year 1980), the Henrietta Szold
chapter of Hadassah; Jewish Federation, Aid
for Friends, the American Diabetes Associ-
ation and the Philadelphia Visitors Center.

She is survived by her children, Benjamin
(Elyse) Leace and Mindy (Dr. Benjamin)
Rosenblum and grandchildren Daniele and
David Leace and Shaina and Hailey Rosen-
blum. Her husband, the late David Leace
passed away on December 5, 1978. Contribu-

Carol Sue Miller 73, of Boynton Beach,
passed away on May 17, 2018. Carol was the
cherished wife of Paul Miller. She was ad-
ored by her daughters Melissa (Andrew)
Ruddick and Samantha (Kenneth) Zorovich
and beloved by the world’s cutest grandchil-
dren Ashley, Nicholas, Emma and James.

Carol grew up in Lower Merion and gradu-
ated from Temple University with a degree in
Elementary Education. Her career included
teaching and managing in the insurance in-
dustry but she took most pride in her work as
a volunteer and mentor with Take Stock in
Children in Florida, a non-profit organization
that offers scholarship opportunities to de-
serving students. She was an avid tennis
player, enjoyed playing cards with her friends
and walking the boards in Ventnor. Carol
loved dancing to the oldies with Paul, her
husband, best friend and dancing partner of
52 years. Carol was a ray of sunshine and joy
in the lives of her family and friends; a beauti-
ful person inside and out. Her funeral was
held on May 20, 2018 in a chapel that seated
250 mourners. It was standing room only
which pretty much says it all.

LEVINE Melvin Levine, a warm and easygoing man
who appreciated a good joke, and occasion-
ally could tell one, died June 1, 2018, at age
93. He grew up in coal country near Scrant-
on, Pa., received bachelor’s and law degrees
from Temple University, and spent most of
his professional career as an executive at
WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. He was married to
Sally Fischer Levine and lived in Drexel Hill,
Pa., until her death in 1990. He lived his last
two decades in Southern and Northern Calif.

with his longtime companion, Gloria Halpern
of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., who passed away Feb.

ter, Mollie Freed, and his children, Steven

Frank Nemeyer, May 18, 2018. Beloved hus-
band of the late Sophia (nee Silber); Loving
father of Eric Nemeyer and Roberta (James
W,) Lennon. Frank served his country
proudly during World War II in the Army Air
Force Corps with the 2532 Air Base Com-
mand Unit, based At Randolph Field in Texas.

Frank was a graduate of Stuyvesant High
School in NYC . He received his BA from NY
University School of Business and his Mas-
ters of Arts in Administration From Antioch
University. During the 1940's and 50’s,he
was an independent producer of B-Roll films,
documentaries and photographic projects for
NBC Studios. He also produced B roll for live
shows such as “Playhouse 90”. He relocated
to Philadelphia, where he spent 25 years as
an Executive in Publishing for North Americ-
an Publishing Company During his retire-
ment he remained active as an adjunct pro-
fessor at Drexel University and Rosemont
College. Frank also had the opportunity to
work in Print Ad and and commercials. We
will miss his great sense of humor and his Li-
on’s Roar.

SOLOMON Harvey Lowell Solomon, Age 82, passed
away peacefully at home in Phila. on June 11,
2018. He is survived by his loving wife
Roberta (nee Schwartz of South
Philadelphia), his daughters Susan Solomon
and Joyce (nee Solomon) Carter and son-in-
law Lawrence Ferenchick, and his grandchil-
dren: Emily Stephens, and Jenna, Justin and
Jamie Carter; nieces Cathy Frankel, Donna
Cooper, Sandi Krone, and nephew Kenneth
Cooper. Harvey was devoted to his grandchil-
dren who every day brought a smile to his
face. To his extended family, and everyone
that Harvey knew, Harvey was a positive
force who could tell a story or joke and light-
en every occasion. His response for the
question “How are you?’ was always, “I am
wonderful!” Harvey was born on Dec. 18,
1935. He is the son of Max and Matilda So-
lomon and the brother of Marjorie (Meesie)
Cooper and Arlene Krone. Harvey grew up in
West Philadelphia and graduated from Over-
brook High School. He served in the Army
from 1954 to 1956. Once married, Harvey
raised his children in Willingboro and Cin-
naminson New Jersey. Harvey and his broth-
er-in-law Billy were the charismatic duo be-
hind the successful Kelly and Cohen Restaur-
ant and Deli operated on the campus of the
University of Penna from 1960 to 1985. After
selling the Deli, Harvey continued his love of
cooking and entertained others by throwing
parties in both his Philadelphia residence and
his home in Margate NJ. Relatives and

in Pascani, Romania and immigrated to Is-
rael as a teenager. Zvi was an engineer in the
Israeli Air Force and later owned and oper-
