SPIVACK WALDBAUM
Marlene Spivack, age 81, died on June 25,
2017. Aunt of Gary (Linda) Spivack, Donald
Spivack, Jeffrey (Bob) Wohlfeld, and Mitchell

RAPHAEL-SACKS STEINBERG
Claire Steinberg, (Rakoff) (nee Resnick)
passed away peacefully on June 30, 2017.

She was born in Philadelphia on October 19,
1922, and graduated from Overbrook High
School in 1940. She wed David Rakoff in
1942. Michael and Michele Rakoff, her twins
were born in 1944 and tragically, David
Rakoff was killed in WWII in July 1945. She
married Ben Steinberg in 1950. Claire was
known affectionately as GG to her 9 grand-
children and 15 great-grandchildren. She was
a founder of Charities Anonymous in Phil-
adelphia. For the past 40 years, she worked
at Arrange-ment Unlimited. Claire was loved
by all for her honesty, good humor, tireless
energy, and fabulous baking. Relatives and
friends were invited to Graveside Services,
Wednesday 11 A.M., Haym Salomon Me-
morial Park, 200 Moores Road, Frazer, PA.

STERN Raymond Stern, on June 28, 2017 at the age
of 89. Husband of Marlene (nee Alper). Fath-
er of Michael (Colleen) and Glenn (Lisa).

RAPHAEL-SACKS WAGNER
Miriam Wagner (Zeitlin), Born December 17,
1926, Died May 30, 2017 Intelligent, playful,
creative and strong, Miriam Wagner em-
braced life fully. Born Miriam Zeitlin on
December 17, 1926, she grew up as one of
nine children and was especially close wither
her brother, Matthew Zeitlin and her adopted
sister, Lynn Brooks. She was the first in her
family to go to college. She painted and
worked on her silversmithing until less than a
year before she died. Miriam fell in love on a
blind date when she was a vice principal and
teacher at the Workman’s Circle Arbeiterring
Folk Shul in Wynnefield. She later taught in a
variety of other Jewish institutions in the
Philadelphia area. In December 1954, she
married the man from her blind date, Max
Wagner and together they had two children
and started a variety of businesses. Miriam
loved her family dearly and stayed up-to-date
in the lives of her children: Dianne and Gary
Sigman and Jacki and Alan Routhenstein,
grandchildren: Joshua and Emily Sigman, Eli-
anna Sigman, Barack and Michelle Routhen-
stein, Arik Routhenstein, and Esti Routhen-
stein and great-grandchildren: Noah, Re-
bekah and Zachary. She remained playful and
passionate throughout her life. Her legacies
of playfullness, creativity, strength and pas-
sion will live on in all who were blessed to
know her.

ZAGER Joan Waldbaum (nee Bernhang); July 19,
2017 of Wynnewood, PA; Wife of the late
Morton Waldbaum; Mother of Lisa (James
Davis) Waldbaum, Ellen (Dave) Haskell and
Josh Waldbaum; grandmother of Dan (Ari-
ella), Tom (Ayelet) and Inbal (Noam); Great
Grandmother of Maayan, Liana, Shachar and
Netta. Relatives and friends were invited to

Jerome Zager, age 86, born December 7,
1930, passed away June 15, 2017. Husband
to late wife Thelma (nee Lipschultz), father to
Rena Zager and Dorene Reinhardt, father-in-
law to Mitchell Reinhardt, grandfather to Mat-
thew and Allison Reinhardt. A positive per-
son, every new experience was best thing he
had ever seen, eaten or done. Donations in
