DECEMBER, 2019
Mother, Grammy, and loving friend Marcia
Sheila Brown passed away peacefully on
December 9, 2019 at the age of 86. She was
born on July 6, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky
to the late Etta and Louis Segal. Marcia’s
greatest joys came from the deep relation-
ships she built with others. Her warmth
defined her connections, and made her a fast
friend to all. She nurtured many childhood
friendships for over 70 years, while always
finding room for new people she could take
under her wing. Everyone Marcia met was
touched by her deep and genuine love for
others. Above all, Marcia’s love for her fam-
ily was the centerpiece of her life. A dedic-
ated wife to Alvin Brown for over 65 years,
devoted mother to sons Dean and Jeffrey and
daughters-in-law Katie and Susan, and ador-
ing grandmother to Rachel, Michelle, Alison,
Zachary, and Jordan, Marcia showered her
family in abundant, pure love and loyalty.
Whether a situation called for a pointed Yid-
dish saying or piece of sage advice, no one
was better at caring for their family than Mar-
cia. Marcia will be deeply missed by her fam-
ily and friends. A private family memorial will
be held at King David Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests that memorial
gifts may be made to the American Cancer
Society. Eileen L. Eisenberg (nee Brody), 78, died
