GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL-SACKS 2 DECEMBER, 2019 Mother, Grammy, and loving friend Marcia ­­­Sheila Brown passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019 at the age of 86. She was born on July 6, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Etta and Louis Segal. Marcia’s greatest joys came from the deep relation- ships she built with others. Her warmth defined her connections, and made her a fast friend to all. She nurtured many childhood friendships for over 70 years, while always finding room for new people she could take under her wing. Everyone Marcia met was touched by her deep and genuine love for others. Above all, Marcia’s love for her fam- ily was the centerpiece of her life. A dedic- ated wife to Alvin Brown for over 65 years, devoted mother to sons Dean and Jeffrey and daughters-in-law Katie and Susan, and ador- ing grandmother to Rachel, Michelle, Alison, Zachary, and Jordan, Marcia showered her family in abundant, pure love and loyalty. Whether a situation called for a pointed Yid- dish saying or piece of sage advice, no one was better at caring for their family than Mar- cia. Born in Pittsburgh, he formerly resided in Gladwyne, Pa, and even- tually settled in Sarasota, Fl, and Ventnor, New Jersey. Sam's upbeat and caring nature touched the lives of everyone he knew. His strong moral compass, generosity, and ac- ceptance of others were an inspiration to all who knew him. JOSEPH LEVINE and SONS RUDOFSKY Raymond Rudofsky, beloved father of David Rudofsky (Camilla Calamandrei) and Susan Schwartz (David), passed away on Decem- ber 4, 2019 at the age of 91 years. He was the son of Louis and Yetta (Feldman) Rudof- sky, who were both born in Russia. He had two brothers, Sidney Rudofsky (Frances), who predeceased him by five days, and Bern- ard (Doris) Rudolf. He was born at home at 433 Herzl Street in Brooklyn on December 30, 1927. In 1945 he was drafted into the US Army, where he served at the Aberdeen Prov- ing Ground and in Occupied Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1947 and attended CCNY where he received a BEE in Electrical Engineering and also completed post-gradu- ate studies at Brooklyn Polytechnic. He spent his entire career in the computer industry, and was involved in the development of some of the earliest large scale computers, includ- ing the UNIVAC. A long time resident of Wil- low Grove and Cheltenham, he served as ma- gistrate of elections in Cheltenham for 20 years. He was very happily married for very close to fifty years before his wife Helen passed away on June 9, 2004. In addition to their two children, Raymond is survived by three grandchildren – Dina Hoeynk (Josh), Ben Rudofsky (Annie Fuoto) and Marcello Ca- lamandrei Rudofsky, and step-grandson Alex Schwartz (Christy). Call 215.832.0749 to place your memorial. SPIEGEL Bernard Spiegel, age 88, of Elkins Park PA and Aventura FL, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 in Las Vegas. He was born on March 17, 1931 in Nelipeno, Czechoslov- akia to the late Abraham and the late Faige Spiegel. At 13, he and all of the Jews in Nelipeno were forced to move and work as slave labor at the Monschau Ghetto in Lodz,Poland. After 2 months, he was taken to Auschwitz where his beloved mother and father were murdered, and then to Mau- thausen-Gusen, when he was liberated on May 5, 1945. After reconnecting with his sis- ter and brother, he traveled to Europe and re- ceived some rehabilitation prior to coming to the US on December 19, 1951, with pennies in his pocket. In 1952, he joined the army and proudly served in the Korean Conflict as a sergeant. Bernard eventually became an en- trepreneur in the hospitality business. Through hard work and determination, as a non-English speaker, with only a 4th grade education, he became a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Infantry, lived the American Dream as a self-made business man, who at one point in his career owned 13 establishments. He left a legacy of love and loyalty to his family and friends. Bernard is survived by his children Gwen Toyzer (Rob Perri) of Havertown PA, Annette Aerenson (Jeffrey Metz) of Las Ve- gas; grandchildren Michael Spiegel (Stephanie), Bob Spiegel, Jenn Toyzer (Alex Rothberg), Melanie Toyzer (Nathan Black), Whitney Aerenson (Patrick Pembroke), Jack- ie Aerenson; great grandchildren Zachary Spiegel, Jacob Spiegel; and longtime partner Eva Mason.
