Joshua (Wendie) Broker and Rachel (Brian)
Kaplan. Brother of Sonna (Steven) Epstein

1934, in Philadelphia, Gerry attended Temple
university and the University of Pennsylvania
Law School, where he was elected the the Or-
der of the Coif. He was admitted to the
Pennsylvania Bar in 1960 and the Florida Bar
in 1975. He joined Blank Rome in 1962 and
was elected partner in 1966. After heading
the Real Estate Department, he left Blank
Rome in 1988 to become partner of the Core
Group, a private equity firm, and later joined
The Rubin Organization as Vice Chairman and
general Counsel. An avid sailor, Gerry was a
founding Trustee of the Solomon & Sylvia
Bronstein Foundation which, since 2000, has
provided gifts to over 100 charities in the
Philadelphia area and Israel. Relatives and
friends were invited to Funeral Services

Freda Plotnick Eisenberg, of Indianapolis,
formerly of Philadelphia, PA died on Decem-
ber 10 at the age of 95. In Philadelphia Freda
was an active member of Reform Congrega-
tion Keneseth Israel. A talented knitter and
avid bridge player, she and her late husband,
Israel (Irv) enjoyed traveling around the
world. Freda was a strong, meticulous, and
stylish person who was proud of her chil-
dren, Dr. Floyd Eisenberg and Rabbi Sandy
Sasso (Dennis). She is also survived by her
grandchildren, Dr. David Sasso, Dr. Debora
Herold (Brad), Dr. Rachel Greene (Stuart) and
Dr. Josh Eisenberg and three great-grandchil-

FELS Joseph Fels, 97, of Center City, passed away
at home on November 27, 2016. He was
born in Philadelphia to Frances and Mitchell
Fels on May 28, 1918. He is survived by his
wife of 63 years, Lenore Fels (nee Rubin),
two sons, Robert Fels of Boca Raton Florida
and Richard Fels (Carla) of Ridgewood, New
Jersey and New York City and three grand-
daughters, Molly Fels, Laura Fels and Sarah
Fels. The oldest of four children he is also
survived by his sister, Vickie Alexander of
Florida and was predeceased by his brothers,
Marty Fels and Arthur Fels. A graduate of Ol-
ney High School, he served in the Coast Artil-
ler during World War II. He was member of
the Hackenberg Masonic Lodge Number 19
for more than 50 years and a long-time mem-
ber of the Jewish War Veterans South Phil-
adelphia Post 98, Cardoza Lodge #400 Brith
Shalom, the Philadelphia American Legion,
and a past PASR member. Joseph and Len-
ore Fels have been members of Congrega-
tion Beth Or in Maple Glen Pennsylvania
since 1958. After a long career in the amuse-
ment arcade business, Joseph earned a
teaching certificate at Temple University and
taught high school at the Swenson Skills
Center. He was a lover of the Jersey Shore
and instilled a passion for scouting and the
outdoors in his two sons. In his retirement
years he rekindled an interest in philately, be-
came an avid stamp collector and cultivated a
large circle of fellow stamp aficionados. A
true native of the City of Brotherly love, he
was devoted to his granddaughters and all
remember him as a welcoming friend. Contri-
