BROKER Eva R. Abraham-Podietz passed away in
West Palm Beach, Florida at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her beloved
husband, David Podietz (1918-2020), her be-
loved son, Daniel Abraham (1956-2005) and
her beloved grandson, Aaron Podietz (1992-
2017). Eva is survived by her daughter, Na-
omi Parker, her grandsons, Michael Abra-
ham and Hudson Parker, and by her late hus-
band's children and grandchildren. Eva was
interred alongside her son, Daniel, at Men-
orah Gardens, South West Ranches, Florida.

Hope Ellen Broker (nee Ballow) March 3rd,
1938 – August 11, 2021. Born and raised in
Wynnefield, Hope Ellen Ballow attended Over-
brook High School and Temple University
(Class of 1960) where she received both a
Bachelors and Masters degree in Music from
the Teachers College. She studied voice un-
der the tutelage of Madame Pierre Monteaux,
performed in various operas, and was briefly
married to conductor Sydney Rothstein.

Hope remarried Gerald Broker, an attorney in
Philadelphia, raised two children, and lived in
Bala Cynwyd and Merion Station. The mar-
riage ended in divorce. Hope became an ac-
complished watercolorist and art collector
who was greatly influenced by the Barnes
Foundation’s famous art appreciation pro-
gram. Hope moved to Society Hill in the late
1990s and remained there until her passing.

She is survived by her children Joshua
Broker and Rachel Broker Kaplan and her
granddaughters Leah Broker, Daisy Kaplan
and Piper Kaplan. Donations can be made to

BROAD Shirley Broad passed peacefully on Sunday,
August 8th at the wonderful age of 94. A
sweet and loving mother, wife, sister, grand-
mother and great grandmother, Shirley is
survived by her three children: Beth
Buxbaum, Lisa Shull and Dr. Todd Broad, and
son-in-law Dean Shull; her brother Martin
Harris; six grandchildren Rachel, Chelsea,
Danielle, Tara, Zach and Harris and her first
great granddaughter Lexie. She and her late
husband, Jack Broad (aka JayBee), who
passed in 2004, had a strong sense of family
and enjoyed hosting family gatherings large
and small. Shirley devoted herself to raising
her three children, caring for her grandchil-
dren and being a loving wife, companion and
friend to Jack until he passed. Shirley was an
accomplished water colorist and loved paint-
ing landscapes. She and Jack also had a pas-
sion for dancing and they were quite a couple
on the dance floor. Shirley also was a Life
Member of Hadassah and was very active in
the organization and a president of her
chapter and treasurer for many years. Her
kind and giving nature, as well as her posit-
ive and upbeat way of being is how she will
always be remembered. In honor of Shirley’s

Ronald G. Brownstein of Margate, NJ and
Boynton Beach, FL, born on May 26, 1934,
passed away on August 8, 2021. He is sur-
vived by his wife, Harriet, children Wendy
Feldman and Barry Brownstein, grandchil-
dren, Isaac and Talya, and sister Deborah
Forman. After a prosperous career consult-
ing for the pharmaceutical industry, Ron re-
tired to enjoy summers at the Jersey Shore
and winters in Florida. He served as Co-Pres-
ident at his retirement community’s seasonal
social club for many years. He and Harriet
enjoyed traveling, Broadway shows and con-
certs. Ron was a dedicated father and grand-
father and loved spending time with his chil-

CALTUNE Shirley Caltune (nee Kurnitsky)on August 3,
2021. From West Palm Beach, FL. Beloved
wife of the late Joseph “Joe” Caltune: Ador-
ing mother of Craig Caltune and the late
Michelle “Shelly” (Bob) Passehl; Sister of
Arnold Kurnitsky and the late Anne Gabler;
Daughter of the late Dora (nee Gerberg) and
Louis Kurnitsky. Shirley was born and raised
in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia. She
graduated from Simon Gratz High School and
went on to have a career for over 30 years as
a Legal Secretary for Senior Partner Bob
Freedman at the law firm of Cohen Shapiro
(Drinker Biddle) in Center City Phila. The
highlight of her life was being a proud Mom-
Mom to Jason Passehl and Nicole (Jeff) Ven-
tura, as well as Bubbie to Macie, Avery and
Emma Ventura. Shirley was also blessed to
be the partner of Harry Kabo for 18 years. His
children, Michael (Ellen) Kabo and Bonni
(Jerry) Shinfeld, his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren were loved by Shirley. A once
in a lifetime woman whom words cannot ad-
equately describe. Shirley was an amazing
friend to all who knew her, but especially to
Natalie Pearlman for over 60 years and her
cousin Jackie Baseman since birth. Shirley’s
smile lit up every room and everybody loved
her, as she was magnetic, fun and classy.

She loved to share the joy in the good times
and always looked on the bright side of life.

Shirley will be remembered for her strength,
her sense of humor, her poems, her style and
her love for shopping. She had a love for
singing show-tunes, going to the theater,
playing Mahjong and Canasta, going for
lunch with the girls, spending time in At-
lantic City and Florida, and traveling all over
the world. She lived a magnificent life, one
that will be cherished forever. In honor of her

EHRLICH Resa Cherry, (Pincus) passed away peace-
fully on August 10, 2021 at the age of 93.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Jack and
her brother, Gerald. Lovingly remembered by

Michael S. Danziger of Bryn Mawr died on
April 11, 2021. He died of pneumonia, and
was in treatment for CLL at the time of his
death. Michael was born August 26, 1954.

He grew up in Woodmere, NY. He held de-
grees from Northwestern University, and
Brooklyn Law School. Michael was an Attor-
ney, and served as an Administrative Law
Judge in New York City. He is survived by his
wife Rebecca Klauder Danziger, his mother
Eleanor Danziger, and his sister Kathleen
(Jerome Fortier). Three months after Michael
was buried his beloved brother Peter Danzi-
ger also died. Peter's wife Joan (Nelick) Dan-
ziger, three daughters and six grandchildren
survive him. In addition to the persons men-
tioned above, the children and grandchildren
of Kathleen Fortier, Aunt Daisy Rosner, and
seven Rosner cousins mourn the loss of the

Judith Kalish Ehrlich, August 10, 2021. Judy
passed away peacefully, surrounded by those
who loved her and those whom she loved.

She was the beloved wife of 68 years of the
late Richard (Dick) Ehrlich; loving mother of
Louise Stillman and Amy Wilen (Jack); de-
voted grandmother of Josh Elgart, Abby and
David Kaplan, Jill and Matt Garfinkle, and
David and Rebecca Wilen; and loving great
grandmother of Skylar and Samara Kaplan,
and Sydney Wilen. Judy and Dick were mem-
bers of Congregation Beth-El-Ner Tamid
since 1963, where Dick was president of the
Men’s Club and Judy was Assistant Presid-
ent of the Sisterhood. She and Dick were also
founders of the Overbrook Park Folkshul.

Judy served as Delaware County Chairwo-
man of the Women’s Division of the Jewish
Federation. Judy taught at Leidy School from
1960-1989, where she taught mathematics.

She was a remedial educator and was re-
sponsible for demonstration lessons, instruc-
tional materials, and staff development. She
also served on the math curriculum commit-
tee. She loved working with children. In re-
cent years, she lived at the Quadrangle in
Haverford, with her daughter, Louise. Contri-

GLAUSER Dorothy Glauser (nee Wax), age 98, of Boyn-
ton Beach, FL, formerly of Philadelphia and
Huntingdon Valley, passed away on July 21,
2021. Dorothy was born in Buenos Aires, Ar-
gentina, and as an infant moved to Toronto,
Canada with her parents Berucha and Isaac
Wax. While working as an Executive Secret-
ary at the Nevele Country Club, she met the
love of her life, Sid, who was the hotel’s
activities director. She is survived by her hus-
band of 62 years, Sidney L. and children Jan
Elena Giordano and Scott Allen Glauser.

Dorothy, also known as Bubbie, is also sur-
vived by her adoring grandchildren Eric and
Alexandra Giordano. Predeceased by her sib-

family on July 26 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania at the age of 95 after a well-
lived life. Mort is survived by his adored wife

GOLDRING Doris Helene Riebman Goldring, 89, a long-
time resident of Lake Worth Beach, Florida,
passed away on Wednesday, August 18,
2021. Doris was the youngest of 6 children
born to the late Harry and Fanny Riebman.

She was raised in Coatesville, PA and atten-
ded Coatesville High School. She graduated
from Penn State University where she was a
member of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. After
graduating college, Doris moved to Phil-
adelphia to teach kindergarten. Mutual best
friends set her up on a blind date with Ed-
ward Goldring. It was a date that would turn
into a love story that lasted over 65 years.

Doris and Eddie raised 3 children in Wyn-
newood, PA. They spent summers in Mar-
gate, NJ, where Doris loved nothing better
than to host her family and friends at their
summer home. Doris loved all things “Holly-
wood” and could name and tell you stories
about every actor and actress on the big and
small screen. She loved to decorate and was
always finding ways to make her home more
beautiful. Doris is survived by loving hus-
band Edward Goldring, her children and their
spouses, Fred (Gale) Goldring, Karen (Abe)
Gutman and Lee (Deborah) Goldring. In addi-
tion she is survived by her loving grandchil-
dren, Stephanie Halperin Katz (Evan),
Zachary Halperin, Jenna Goldring Lahcanski
(Nikola), Cassie Goldring, Rebecca Goldring
Wolf (Zachary) and Charles Goldring. She is
also survived by her great grandchild Tess
Emelia Katz. Doris was not only a beautiful
woman on the outside, but she was espe-
cially beautiful on the inside. She was caring
warm, generous, funny and kind. She was
doted on by her devoted husband Ed, who re-
mains her most ardent fan. She will be
greatly missed by all her were lucky enough
to know and love her. The family would like

givers and employees that touched her life.

ISRAEL Judith L. Israel (née Gordon) died on July 5,
2021. The oldest daughter of the late Frances
and Milton Gordon from Melrose Park, PA.

Judith leaves behind two children Anna Colin
and Isaac Israel, 3 beautiful grand children,
and a brother and sister. She taught for many
years in the Camden School District and was
quoted by a coworker as a “legendary teach-
er.” She spoke Spanish and often tutored
during her summer breaks and after retire-
ment. She never took a summer break dur-
ing her teaching years. She continued to tu-
tor and made masks for COVID-19 on her
home sewing machine until she became too
ill. She opened her home to two foster chil-
dren after her own kids grew up. Donations
may be to FXTAS Research.
