Donna Arlene Alamar, age 67, passed away
peacefully on Saturday, March 28th follow-
ing a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born on March 1, 1953, Donna grew up in
the Oxford Circle area of Northeast Phil-
adelphia. She graduated from Northeast High
School in 1970. She remained a resident of
the Philadelphia area and escaped “down the
shore” during the summer. Professionally,
Donna had an early career in retail and then
was a receptionist promoted to assistant es-
timator at Fluidics. Later in life, she turned
her passion for health and exercise into a ca-
reer in health counseling. She used her love
for fashion and health to help people look and
feel their best. Donna was a loving, sweet,
and caring individual. She loved spending
time with family and friends, especially her
granddaughter, Jillian. She truly enjoyed en-
tertainment at concerts and at the theatre.

She could always be found in Atlantic City
laying on the beach in her “pink chair.”
Donna was a shining member of “Supper
Club,” a group of friends that got together
monthly to share food, drinks, laughs and
stories throughout the years. A devoted wife,
mother, “mom mom,” and friend, Donna is
survived by her husband, Brian, her daugh-
ters, Lori (Michael) McTamney and Ali Glick-
stein, her younger brother, Steven Eskowitz,
and her granddaughter, Jillian McTamney.

Donna will be missed by her family and
friends. In lieu of flowers, the family re-
quests donations in her honor to the Uni-
versity of Pennsylvania. Donations can be
made at https://www.pennmedicine.org/giv-
ing/ways-to-give/gifts-in-memory-or-honor. Due to circumstances surrounding the cur-
rent pandemic, the immediate family will
gather for a private service, while a memorial
and celebration of Donna's life will be held at
a later date.

CISIK Mr. Robert Michael Cisik 81, of Doylestown,
passed away on March 31st, 2020. Bob was
born in Pottstown, PA. He taught music in
the Utica New York School District and per-
formed with the Utica Symphony Orchestra
before moving back to the Montgomery
County area where he taught in the Wis-
sahickon School District for thirty years. He
made a commitment to music which spanned
the entirety of his life. By the age of thirteen
Bob was playing music professionally as a
saxophonist, an early testament to his talent.

He performed with the Johnny Haas Polka
Band, the Pottstown Band and even filled in
with the Tommy Dorsey Band when it played
at the Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown.

Later, Bob would answer the call to duty by
enlisting in the United States Air Force. He
auditioned for the Air Force Norad Command
Band where he won the position of first chair.

The band performed on the Ed Sullivan Show
and all over the United States. After leaving
the Air Force, Bob earned a Bachelor of Mu-
sic and a Master’s Degree in Performance on
clarinet at West Chester University.

Throughout his years as an educator, Bob
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to
his profession by consistently setting high
standards for his students, encouraging them
to do their best. While at Wissahickon he
taught middle school band, elementary band,
strings and elementary choirs. After retire-
ment, Bob continued to play in music
groups—as he did throughout his
career—becoming one of Philadelphia’s top
Klezmer clarinetists. He would perform not
only at celebratory functions, but also at
nursing and retirement facilities where his
music brought comfort to those who needed
it most. Bob is survived by his beloved wife
of 46 years, Marcia Margolis Cisik and his
son, Nick. Due to Covid-19, a gathering of
family and friends to celebrate Bob’s life will
be held later this year at Cedar Park Cemetery
in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family

GOLD Lewis H. Gold, age 82, died on March 9, 2020. Husband of Karen (nee Lieber-
man) for 54 years. Son of the late Milton and Lillian (Sis) Gold. Father of Sara
Gold (Ori Lev) and Judith Gold Friedman (Oren Friedman). Grandfather of Lily,
Sam, Benjamin, Micah and Maya. Brother of Harriet Snyder and Marc Gold (Shar-
on Stumacher Gold).

Lew was a graduate of Cheltenham High School (’55), Penn State University (’59)
and Villanova Law School (’62). He enjoyed a law career of over 50 years, first
serving as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Civil Division in
Washington D.C. In 1966, he moved back to Philadelphia with his wife Karen,
where he began his private practice at Adelman and Lavine specializing in busi-
ness law and bankruptcy. Lew rose to prominence at this firm which later be-
came known as Adelman, Lavine, Gold and Levin. Lew completed his career at
Eckert Seamans where he worked until he retired in 2018. He had a love for the
practice of the law which, according to colleagues, he engaged in as a craft. He
served as a mentor to numerous attorneys over the course of his career.

Lew believed in public service and he supported several charitable institutions re-
flecting his diverse interests. Anyone who came in contact with Lew knew that he
was passionate about his alma mater Penn State. Lew served as president of the
Liberal Arts Alumni Board from 1995 - 1998. He then went on to become presid-
ent of the Penn State Alumni Association from 2005 - 2007. He was also on the
Board of the George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center and made generous
contributions to Jewish Studies and the Humanities Institute at Penn State.

Following the tradition of the Gold family and his commitment to the welfare of
the aging, Lew served on the Board of the Abramson Senior Care Center for over
twenty years. He was a generous supporter of the Center and advised on several
committees. He saw it grow into the thriving campus that it is today in Horsham,
PA. Lew was also on the Board of the Settlement Music School for many years
and served as president of the Jenkintown branch.

Lew had both a brilliant mind and a warm heart. He had a deep love for his fam-
ily, a commitment to honesty and integrity, and a unique ability to listen and give
his full attention to everyone with whom he spoke. He tended to others and
avoided attention to himself.

Family was the center of Lew’s life. He was a role model to his children, grand-
children, siblings, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces. He served as a
clear example of what it means to live a good life.

A funeral was held on March 11, 2020, at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sack
Memorial Chapel in Philadelphia. Burial was in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Contri-
butions in his memory can be made to the Penn State Alumni Association (on
memo line: Karen and Lewis Gold Alumni Fund), Bristol Place I, Donor and Mem-
ber Services, 2583 Gateway Dr., Suite 130, State College, PA 16801, or the Ab-
