and S. Michael (Mary) Starkman; grandmoth-
er of Mark Starkman (Susanne), Susan Sims,

stern (Kathleen), and Zachary Starkman; and

WIT Elaine Wit (nee Sickles) 88, of Elkins Park,
and later, Gwynedd Estates, in Lower
Gwynedd Township, PA, died on Sunday,
April 15, 2018. She was a loving mother,
nursery school teacher, active volunteer, en-
trepreneur and loved to help people. She was
on the board of RS Sisterhood, a member of
PTA’s and PTO’s throughout her children’s
high school years, on the board and an of-
ficer of the Elkins Park Free Library, and a
member of the Alpha Auxiliary and Vice Pres-
ident of Montgomery County Mental Health in
Norristown, PA. With Louise Krekstein, she
started CulTour, a travel company in Elkins
Park. Elaine always loved to travel and learn.

She was with the Myrtilla Questers for over
40 years and spent the last ten as President.

Elaine is predeceased by her husband, Philip
Bassist, and her brother, Alan Sickles. She is
survived by her children, Steven (Donna
Gatewood) and Carol (Larry Yakulis). Me-

YANOVITZ Irene Yanovitz (nee Komar), age 91, died on
April 8, 2018. She was a retired teacher's
aide who resided in Philadelphia, PA. Be-
loved wife of the late Maurice; loving mother
of Bev Lichter (Gary Servedio); and also sur-
vived by grandchildren, great grandchildren,
many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces,
great nephews and many friends. Contribu-

Harold Zeiger. According to Scripture, there
is a season for everything, a time to be born
and a time to die. On Monday, April 16, 2018,
the Lord called Harold Zeiger, 90, of Penn
Valley, PA to himself. Harold was a well-re-
garded self-employed jeweler and gemolo-
gist on Jewelers Row for most of his career
before managing other well-known jewelry
stores in the suburbs before his retirement.

Before starting in the jewelry business with
his dad, Harold honorably served in the U.S.

Airforce toward the end of World War II after
his graduation from South Philadelphia High
School. Harold was also an active member of
the Rotary Club of Ardmore. Harold is sur-
vived by his beloved wife, Loretta of over 50
years. He is predeceased by his parents, Al-
bert and Sophie Zeiger of Philadelphia and
survived by his sister Diane (Morton)
Kessler, sons Brad (Joanne) and Steven
(Shari) Zeiger, granddaughter Alexandra Zei-
ger, nephews Alan (Claire) and Steven
Kessler, step-son Paul Mazerski, and grand-
niece Kym Carroll. . In lieu of flowers, me-
morial contributions in Harold’s name may be
made to the “Harold Zeiger Memorial Schol-
arship Fund” to benefit Harold’s caregivers.
