WEISS Harold Weiss, age 92, passed away peace-
fully on Friday, December 2, at his Margate
residence. He was born in Philadelphia on
February 23, 1924, the son of Mendel and
Sylvia (Chirlin) Weiss. After graduating
South Philadelphia High School, he enlisted
in the U.S. Air Army Corps, the predecessor
to the Air Force. He was very proud of his
service in World War II, where he was trained
as an airplane mechanic and served on a
Navy ship in the Pacific Ocean when the
atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. Har-
old graduated from Temple University and
became a CPA. He soon left the accounting
profession, investing in several businesses
and eventually developing a local shopping
center. Outside of his family, who he was ex-
tremely devoted to, Harold’s lifelong passion
was flying. He was an instrument rated air-
plane pilot, and his greatest thrills were fly-
ing his single engine plane over the Rocky
Mountains and island hopping in the Carib-
bean. He was the author of a biography of the
immigrant experience (And The Streets Were
Paved With Gold), a proud Mensa member
and painter. He is survived by two sons,
Richard (Portia) of Newport Beach, and Mi-
chael of Linwood, and his sister Elaine Soko-
loff of Elkins Park. Also surviving are his
grandchildren: Sean, Sarah (Maor), Reming-
ton and Madison; two great-grandchildren:
Mia and Joshua; and many loving nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his
sister Shirley Coff, brother Alvin (Buddy)
Weiss, and grandson Joshua Weiss. He was
deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Con-

PROVERBS 3:15
She is more precious than rubies and all the
things thou canst desire are not to be
compared unto her.
Length of days is in her right hand;
In her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways of pleasantness
and all her path are peace.
She is a tree of life
to them thay lay hold upon her.
And happy is everyone that holdeth her fast.
How profoundly we miss you
Dear ARLENE
never to forget you.
